On all the flights I've been on (to Europe and back to the US) I've never taken my own pillow or blanket. I usally find I can not sleep very well anyways and personally I find planes are usually warm enough without the blanket. As for a pillow - remember you will be very close to the next seat and the seats do not really recline very much so imo it's not worth the hassle of bringing it and having to juggle it with your carry on once you are in the airport etc. By the way. ..thinking back, I do not belive I've ever seen anyone with their own pillow and blanket on a flight

I assume you mean it is 1/2 of a globe. cut 2 circles...one the size of the flat side, but do not forget to add about a inch extra around it for the seam. The other piece should cover the rounded 'bump' side and also leave about 2“ extra for the seam. Now sew a long stitch around edge of larger piece...and pull thread to gather. fit it over pillow to see size you need it to be, When you have that...then secure thread so your gathering stays put. Then sew both pieces together leaving an opening (to insert the pillow.)Turn inside out, and you have your cover...insert pillow thru opening and hand stitch closed or apply velcro or other fastener.
