Your last line brought up a question that I had been pondering. Are sex toys for teens or is it a good idea to give teens sex toys? First of all, I come at this question as a sex-positive sex educator. Even though sex toys have been around for some time, in my mind only recently have serious effort been made for men. The blow of dolls from 80's were such a joke. Even many of the artificial vaginas from the 90's were poorly made. It took Fleshlight and it's cousins to take mens' masturbation seriously in developing quality sex toys. Now there are sleeves, pouches, dildos and of course vibrators available for both men and women.So back to the original question, should they be made available for teens? The educator sex-positive side says yes; for all the reasons they should be made available for adults. They can help you explore your own sexuality. The help you learn what feels right for you. They can be stress and sex relievers when you do not have a partner. They can help reduce your internal sexual tension. However, like with adults, they can become habit forming. They can become a crutch or go to rather than pursuing an actual sexual relationship. For teens, they might actually developmentally stunt their sexual development. Since toys, like masturbation, do not lead one to consider another's needs or wants, it can become easier to just turn to the toy. Then again, if things are anything like my youth, the opportunities for sex were so few and far between that, a sex toy was a great fill in. It was not like some of us did not invent our own anyway. I have not come to a conclusion yet but the question is still there. Is better to give teens a safe sex toy (with cleaning and care instructions) or leave them to find, build create and experiment on their own leading to possible injury?

why do us Americans freak out about sex?

I do not think that's so much the case anymore. In fact, it seems to me that sex is way to prevelent in our mainstream culture right now. Like, the other day I was at a store and they had "sex in a box" I mean really, what next? Not that I am against sex at all (God no!) but it just seems like it's being shoved in your face all the time.

Never even think about going into a relationship purely for sex, unless you have first discussed it in detail with your intended sex partner.It might in some states not amount to rape and in some, it clearly wold be no different to rape. If you have any doubts about that, please raise them now...However, the wording of the question you actually Posted, even if English is only your third or fourth language, clearly indicates this girl would be greatly better off without you. Particularly given that two pieces of wet liver cost a great deal less than a real date, why not let her enjoy life untroubled by a guy who fairly clearly sees her only as a piece of meat?
