Common Small Led Questions

1. What do people in the military with non-combat roles do, if they are attacked?

Well, I agree with most of the answers here.

But, I can tell you what non-combat ground troops do when attacked, they get in the damn way.Its NOT their fault! They are not organized (or led), trained sufficiently or equipped for sustained fight.

Often this is leadership failure in standing and operational orders. These soldiers inside the wire are often are only carrying their individual weapon (M4 or M9 Beretta) and one magazine. Many work individually or in very small groups making command and control difficult, even getting head counts after an incident is tough.

I often led convoy escorts where our cargo was non-combat unit that couldnt move itself securely. These were always fun missions as we never knew how the transported individuals would react under fire. As the year went on I had to order my NCOs to gradually modify the Convoy Safety brief to be more and more restrictive.

We had one narrowly avoided incident of fratricide while escorting an Air Force Prime BEEF (civil engineering) unit. They over reacted to a sniper and fanned one of my vehicles with return fire. Again, not really their fault, we had never trained together and they had no prior experience.

My elements were maneuvering without accounting for fire coming from the transport vehicles behind them. After this incident we placed pretty severe restrictions on how transported units would react to contact. It wasnt always popular but my NCOs didnt care, if theyd had their way we would have been confiscating ammunition and returning when we had units safely back inside the wire.

2. Who would win, Led Zeppelin or The Who?

This really isn't apples and oranges, as much as it is different kinds of apples.

I have a soft spot for The Who because my dad liked them, which meant I liked them. Ultimately, I think Led Zeppelin is the greater of the two, but it's not that simple. The Who have the edge in various areas.

I think The Who have a more original, distinctive sound. That is, no one else sounds like The Who. Neither musically or vocally.

Plenty of bands who play the blues or hard rock, remind me of Zeppelin (although they fall short) and plenty of singers sound like Plant wannabes. Nobody creates music that sounds like the Who sound, and no other singers have ever sounded like Daltrey. Still, I think a Who playlists consists of about 40 to 50 tracks if I'm being generous, and an essential one, could contain under 30.

With Zeppelin, of their 85 or so, studio tracks, only about 10 could be eliminated IMO. So Zeppelin outdoes The Who by about twice as many good songs. I would have a much more difficult time deciding which Zeppelin tracks to eliminate for an essential playlist.

Zeppelin were much more consistent with great cohesive albums, as well. As great as Quadrophenia and Tommy are, them being concept albums, limit the amount of times you just play them or have songs stand on their own, out of the context of the concept. Only Who's Next is on Zeppelin's level for great traditional studio album, although I think The Who by Numbers and Who are You are a tad underrated.

But The Who become rather redundant after a while, where as Zeppelin, was so diverse, it's easier not to get bored quickly. I do love The Who though. And saying they fall short of Zeppelin is no insult

What are the strangest divorce traditions in history?

Not the strangest, but perhaps some of the most unjust and absurd. One of Napoleons most significant contributions to the world is his civic code.

These laws also included the grounds and process for divorce. Adultery was considered reason enough to file for divorce. However, the laws blatantly favored men.

The wife may demand divorce on the ground of adultery in her husband, when he shall have brought his concubine into their common residence. What the law essentially says is that a woman is only allowed to divorce her husband as long as he brings a mistress into their household (hence concubine). If she were to catch her husband in the act with his mistress, that wouldnt count, even though it technically is adultery.

But, if a husband were to catch his wife with a lover, he was allowed to divorce her. In addition, she could be sent to jail for two years, while a husband would only have to pay a small fine. Essentially, the civic code ensured that married women would have no more rights than a minor.

These laws reflected Napoleons view of women, who he considered to be naturally inferior to men. He believed in a patriarchy and made sure that the laws encouraged this. The Emperor ended up divorcing Josephine de Beauharnais on the grounds that she could not bear him an heir, and ended up marrying the 18-year old Austrian Princess Marie-Louise (he was 40).

After Napoleon fell, the French monarchy repealed the civic code and re-instituted the Catholic Churchs influence on the state. Only judicial separation was an option. Divorce was not made legal in France until 1884.

4. Wouldn't VIR mean greater resistance increases voltage?

Whats going on, is that you are feeding a LED ( Light Emitting Diode ), which behaves like a voltage regulator.

It has a knee in its voltage/current curve. If you put a very small voltage across the LED, it will conduct almost nothing. Start raising the voltage across the LED, and nothing much will happen until you hit around 2V, and then all of a sudden the current will shoot up, and the LED will light.

When you put the 100K resistor in series with the LED, you choked the current through the LED way down. But since the LED is like a voltage regulator, the voltage only went down a little. This voltage regulator characteristic can be very useful, and I have made up crude voltage regulators out of strings of diodes.

The regulation gained this way is not very precise, and it is temperature dependent. Diodes work well to get you a defined voltage *drop*. Say you have an 8V wall wart, and you need 5V.

But youd like it to be reasonably regulated, so a series resistor wont work. You make up a string of rectifier diodes - which are about . 6V apiece - and stick them in series with the output of your wall wart.

An advantage of the series string of diodes is that the power dissipation needed to drop the voltage, is shared more or less equally among the diodes. So where one zener diode might get hot to trot, the diodes in the string just get warm. Excessive heat is the enemy of electronics

What are some horror stories about working at Google?

Heres my horror story. I was at Google for 5 years and had transferred to work at an international office, outside of the US.

I was at that office for almost 3 years when I was offered a position to repatriate and return to the Mountain View office.I verbally accepted the offer, had meetings with my new team and manager while I was in the midst of negotiating my relocation package. I was holding off on signing my new contract because I wanted corporate housing while I relocated back to the US.

That was my mistake that I didnt sign but I knew that if I signed immediately they wouldnt give me the housing. Around the same time, a high level executive decided to jump ship to a competitor. This executive was one of the leaders of the new team that I was going to join in MTV.

Well, this executives move pissed off another Google executive and he reacted in such a way that he put an immediate hiring freeze in place which put me out of my new job in MTV because I hadnt signed my contract and essentially dissolved my new team as another new teammate was in the same situation. My team in the international office had already hired a backfill because my departure was imminent and I had already given up my visa and my apartment so I was left hanging in limbo with no job in MTV and no job at the international office. The kicker?

The executive who left for the competitor returned to Google 4 months later for a new, higher level executive role. I ended up so deflated that I took sabbatical and left the company

6. What really happened in the Boston Massacre?

Boston was a city known for the gathering of crowds and a city known for smoldering tension. It was one of the colonies' oldest cities and it was not regarded as a backwater town. Increasing British presence in Boston made Bostonians very unhappy and they were vocal in their unhappiness.

Angrily decrying a long sentry in a guardhouse a small squad of Very young British soldiers came to his support as the anger of the crowd was threatening. The gathering crowd was made angrier and they threw snowballs and then rocks at the squad of soldiers taunting them with their favorite insult "Lobsterbacks".The new Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia devotes a curatorial space to the Boston Massacre and it states that as the crowd taunted the soldiers, a fire broke out nearby.

Someone in the crowd yelled 'Fire!" and the soldiers mistook it for an order to fire on the crowd. That last part was news to me but the first part caused John Adams - the great Patriot - to volunteer to defend the young soldiers in court - who were on trial for their lives having fired into the crowd killing five people.

Adams spoke well and managed to sway a Boston jury such that only two of the soldiers were found guilty and of manslaughter not murder. The event was greatly publicized by those who hoped for war with Britain and a print was made of innocent Bostonians going quietly about their daily business while British soldiers are ordered to fire by an officer standing behind them.https://www.

7. Can we expect surprising results in 2019 Lok Sabha elections?

I m sharing my previous answer you all will be surprised and real till end.I am from Sirsa(haryana). In our constituency there is a stiff fight between two candidates one is from congress and other one is from bjp.

But 1 month backBjp candidate was winning with a clear cut majority. But how this happenI think everyone knows this man .Man who is behind multiple murders, rapes and land extortions cases .

In Sirsa His following became stronger after this incident . In sirsa constituency there are 60 to 70% votes of his followers and in haryana it is 25 to 30% votes. So what congress candidate has done he just gave support to Ram Rahim followers and convince them to vote in congress favour and if congress government comes they will set him freeNow in Sirsa most of his followers act as a congress worksmen and doing campaign in his following .

Beacuse They want their so called god to be out of jail. But the fun part is during the time of ram rahim verdict his followers were sayingOur god himself chooses to go to jail in order to give society a message that the way of truth is very difficult and one must follow it provided any consequences.May god give mercy on ram rahim and his followers(*wink*).

KJEDIT :Congratulations to everyone Ram rahim lost and india wins in our constituency. Congress candidate is losing with a great margin.Today I m very happy and I know everyone will be happy as our country is very great and people just voted heavily and now every ram rahim followers are in shock and I m just using my whatsapp to feel them more jealous by this
