At a shelter don't go by breed, try to spend some time with as many dogs as possible and choose one by its personality. If you choose to get a husky then a deck, even a large one, will not do. Huskies are working dogs and being stuck in a confined space for long periods of time with nothing stimulating to do WILL lead to behavior problems.
Any dog will be active but you need to remember to gradually build both yourself and the dog up to running longer and faster, don't go running with the goal of 2 miles in mind, maybe up and down your own street for the first couple of weeks.

HELP 911!!! Need toddler entertainment ideas for a 2 year old stuck on the couch!!?
My 3yo did the same thing a couple of months ago and it was a nightmare. If she is usually active then she is gonna be a little bored. For my son best things were;
Colouring and activity books
Reading books
Movies (let her pick)
Scaletrix
Play dough
Action figures/dolls
Baking (he sat on the counter and helped)
Cornflour and water
Painting
Craft things - we made masks, capes, shakers ect
Sidewalk Chalk - she should be able to sit outside as well
Also, this is where modern technology comes in really handy. If you have any stuff like the DS, iPads or iPhones then they will keep her entertained for a bit. The kid orientated stuff like the leapster are also great.

week old pup is teething?
Your puppy is going through typical teething issues that every puppy experiences. Problem is that the larger the puppy, the more damage they can cause. The solution is incredibly simple. You must buy a crate suitable in size for it to stand inside. The crate can either be wire or plastic, must have a water coop style cup. Also buy a couple cow hooves for chewing. They smell gross when the dogs chew them--like toe nails, but the dogs will occupy themselves for hours gnawing them. Forget the plastic, rubber, greenies, or any raw hide. You can order crates at Pet Edge for very reasonable prices compared to store prices and get your crate in a few days. I highly recommend their ProSelect wire crates--just do a google for Pet Edge for their site.

My two year old son was wrongly evaluated for autism ?
I have a family member who is 5 or 6 now and is autistic. If you don't find help on here from someone who knows how to deal with it first hand I would be willing to listen and give you possible resources. I'm to hear about, but not in the sorry that's bad, because I would never speak of another's child like that. I jus tknow from watching my aunt that it can be very depressing to come to certain terms of your child growing up autistic. I'm sure you have looked into a bunch of research about autism, seeing as your son is, but if that's what you're also looking for I can help you out with that also

Read: What kind of dog should I get?
Irish Setter.
They look awesome, and have a wonderful mahogany red coat, but it dose need a bit of looking after, especially if you find a show line (field lines have a shorter coat generally speaking)
They have endless outdoor energy, and love fetch, as a field dog they were expected to retrieve game, but they are quite content to lay around the house.
They are medium sized dogs, a little larger then your common lad or golden, and have absolutely amazing personalities.
They are most friendly breed of dog i have ever owned.
And contrary to popular belief, they are quite smart and easy to train because they love to please.

I'm babysitting my baby brother for 2 weeks?
Well any of the classic Disney movies are always good to watch...Toy Story, Lion King, Aladdin....plus the newer ones that are out. Hmmm, how about building a tent using sheets and blankets with him? And you can play cards, charades, and hideNgo seek. You can also play "treasure hunt".
..which is where you write a bunch of clues on different papers and each clue leads to where he'd find the next clue and so on and so forth until he is eventually led to the prize...whether that be a popsicle, icecream, cookie, or other dessert item...or if it's a toy or other present type of thing.

Are Pomeranians difficult to breed and deliver?
Ok- "contemplating a one time adventure" is something only a backyard breeder would do. No decent breeder uses unregistered breeding stock. No decent breeder would use a bit** or stud whose ancestry is unknown. No decent breeder would consider using a bit** or stud without having pertinent OFA certifications done FIRST. It seems to me that grubby backyard breeders have no problems whelping puppies- the shelters are full of their poorly bred whelps. I guess you'll find that all out first hand, won't you?
ADD: If you want to keep busy then volunteer as a foster home for your local shelter. They get litters of puppies in all the time that need home care until they are old enough to be adopted out.

Is this normal when having two dogs?
It sounds like your first dog might be a little jealous of your second dog. This is common, but, try to include your first dog when ever you bend down to give your second a pat on the head or play tug of war. Your first dog propably feels left out and was happier when all the attention was on him and not the second dog. Yes, it might be hard to include both dogs, but, remember, you agreed to take full care of both of these dogs, and if you want them to be happy, then, you have to include both of them. I hope that this helps! Enjoy your new dog (and your first dog too!)!

Questions About My Dog (Sorry It's So Long)?
ok She is cute i don't know what the mix is but don't worry about it. Dog have individual personalities and just because one chow is mean does not mean they all are. Toys-- she probably never had toys so des not see the fun in them. The urinating on the floor well it could alot of things just clean it up and keep working on helping her to not have accidents. There is never a reason to yell at a dog they just want to please you. Her behavior by going in the crate shows she know your expectation of no peeing inside but she may not be able to control it. Have her checked out by the vet and Good luck she sounds like a great companion

Was I acting immature for this or is he really neglecting me?
Personally, I don't think you are acting immature. He is. Mature couples should be able to speak about issues that trouble them. This could be a sign about how he will act when he marries you. Usually, a guy will try to impress the girl until marriage and then relax a bit in trying to please them. This man seems to not even put much effort in before marriage.
I understand being tired. But to use that excuse so often triggers an alarm for me. I would greatly reconsider marrying this man. Don't feel like you should settle. Ever. You're still young. Very young and can find someone who will at least listen to your problems or things you are troubled with. Good luck.

Im worried about my 2 yr old son whos birthdays in feb.. do you think he's autistic?!?
Tip-toeing, spinning in circles, and turning lights on and off are age-appropriate for your child. So long as these things don't pre-occupy him in an abnormal way, it is fine. If he is happy, affectionate, interacts with others, I would not worry about autism. Does he try to get your attention? Point things out or show things to other people to get their attention? Tantrums are age appropriate for your son, as is hand flapping when he is frustrated or angry.
EDIT: I think your son has a speech delay and that is it. Speech delays are the most common developmental delay. Your son understands what you say to him, which shows that cognitively he is fine. Speech delays alone are not good indicators of future difficulties.

How do I get my Golden Retriever to be more active?
wow he's overweight. my golden is 3 years old and male, he is very active, loves everything, loves to go out, I pick up the leash, he runs to the door and waits. he wants to stay outside as long as possible. sometimes I just bring him out and just sit outside and he loves it. maybe you should just bring your dog out more, and .. feed him less, more water, so he has to go out more and use the bathroom? play ball with him. my dog loves balls and toys. my dog chases flies and bugs too. just bring your dog out and sit outside with him or perhaps let him play with other dogs?.

year old lab now being destructive in house..why?
Well normally I would say that if there was a change in my dogs behavior, I would take them to a vet to find out what is going on with them that I am not aware of. Since you are going to the vets, I would guess that your dog is not getting enough exercise or activity. Labs are a very active breed and need lots of activity to keep them out of trouble. If you are walking your dog an hour a day, I would increase the time to 1 1/2 hours. When we leave our dogs at home, we leave lots of toys, and bones, and we leave a radio or tv on for them

How to prepare for a new dog?
Dog proof the house, take any insect or rodent poison out and those dogs grow fast so in less than a year it will be full size so don't buy a small bed thinking it will stay that way forever the first 4 nights or less it will be crying all night because it hasn't been away from its litter mates or mom for a that long so prepare your family and i would suggest sleeping next to her and petting her until she sleeps so she doesn't cry as much. If she keeps crying for more that a week take her to the vet because something might be hurting her

cutest, friendliest child in the WORLD...modeling pictures?
All mothers hear how beautiful their children are, especially when they are babies and toddlers. You might be just a teeny bit biased about your son. Take lots of pictures and pick out the cutest few and send them in. Just don't be terribly disappointed if your son doesn't get a contract. You have to remember child modeling agencies get thousands of pictures a year and there is a limited demand for child models.
Love your son for the beautiful child he is and let him be a child. If he wants to be a model when he is older you can help him pursue it further. Personally, I think toddlers shouldn't be put to work.
Good luck, proud mama!!
