1. I want to play with my dog (toys and such) but she doesn't want/like to? How can i ease her into playing?
hello, keep taking her out for walks, thats good. Make her really hyper before you play and running around in the garden, my dashund loves it when you paw her paws she goes really crazy, or move the toy around and she will try and catch it!
2. Can anyone recommend an indestructable plush dog toys?
If there is a Bass Pro Shops near you they usually have alot of indestructable toys. Hey and while your there you can also get something for you!!!!
3. I thought those dog toys were indistructable, what happened?
No toy is 100% indestructible. Even Kongs are not indestructible, but pretty close as long as you get the right size and type. Red ones are not recommended for power chewers. For extreme chewers you need the black ones and you need to make sure you get the right size, if in doubt get a size larger. I have two power chewers and they've had their large black extreme Kongs for a year now.
4. any good homemade dog toys that will interest him?
water bottles are great for puppies to chew on....but make sure you can replace it as soon as he starts ripping it up. also be sure to take the label off, and the cap, and that little plastic ring under the cap! hope he has fun!!!
5. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could get dog toys for the Humane Society shelter?
Ask PetsMart and Wal Mart if they would please place a donation basket by registers and ask patrons to purchase a dog toy (placed close by for impulse buyers) for the humane society
6. What kind of dog toys can I buy for my puppy?
My dog loooves to chew, so I would suggest a chew toy. Or anything that squeaks. A lot of times I will get a combination thing, (like a squeaker and a rope chew) and along with a tearable one like a dental bone. When my little Belle was younger, a ball of yarn could become the greatest thing ever. Just think like your little buddy, but make sure it's safe for him to be left with it
7. why are dog toys so expensive?!?
We had a lab mix who would remove the squeaker from any toy and then was done with it forever. Tennis balls were her favorite toy, and the cheap ones were just fine with her. Our 1 year old Golden Retriever granddog is very rough on toys. Tennis balls go from new to total destruction in less than an hour with him. He can totally destruct almost any squeaky or stuffed thing in a few minutes. This includes the cheap stuff as well as the sturdy-looking and expensive dog things we have bought at Tractor Supply. Price does not really seem to matter. The only thing I have found so far that he can not destroy are the Kong toys, he has several and so far all are holding up fine. He also chews on many other household objects, but has a special fondness for pencils and crayons, so we have to police the area constantly. Our 8 month old German Shepherd is much more gentle on toys. She loves soft things, and has her own blanky and pillow that she carries and mouths for comfort without chewing. They do get soggy, though! She also likes stuffed animals and the Kongs. She will work a long time on a Kong filled with peanut butter. We had a greyhound who loved and carried a big stuffed cat. He would position it just right to lay his head on, and he carried it almost everywhere he went
8. Anyone recommend any good/fun dog toys?
All my fun toys are fetch toys. The chuck-it is by far the best invention EVER. I use the giant one for my pit. B/c he destroys the tennis ball. Labs usually have a "soft mouth" and will fetch without destroying. So any pet store will sell a standard one for tennis balls. I reccomend the orange and blue(stipe) rubber one. Will last forever but is 8$ for 2. For the corgi the one I know only plays with stuffed animals. So find some neat ones of that, ones that shake or vibrate. Should make an interesting time watching it try to play with it.
