Frequent travellers are always on the lookout for ways to simplify their journeys and make travel hassle free. Here are eight new products that have enhanced my travel experience. 1.
Samsonite Cosmolite suitcase At 1.7 kg, thiscabin-sized hardshell suitcase (55cm) must surely be one of the lightest, if not the lightest, on the market. Made with the patentedCurv, a polypropylene material,it's not only lightas a feather butimpact-resistant.
Although itis easy to carry, it also glides nicely alongon itsfour spinner, multidirectional wheels. Inside, it has only has one zippered compartment but I'm willing to sacrifice compartments to keep the suitcase weight to a minimum. The caseis available insix colors but look out forthe fun limited editions.
Last year, a limited art edition that paid homage to surrealist artist Ren Magritte's "Sky Bird" painting sold out quickly as did the Magritte "The Son of Man" limited edition. However, as 2018 is the tenth anniversary of the Cosmolite, Samsonite have released a chic new gold and silver limited edition . And for 20 extra, you can even have it personalised with your initials.
2. Eagle CreekPack-it Specter These ultra-light packing cubes not only allow for organising your clothes in your suitcase but also compress the contents. I'm using the compression cube set of two which includes small and and large pouches.
There are two sets of zippers, the outer of which compactsthe contents within the pouch. And in addition to taking up very little space in my suitcase, my clothes seem to stay pressed and wrinkle free in the compressed packages. 3.
Zendure A2 Power Bank Day long sightseeing usually results in a dead phone so a portable charger is a must. New from Zendure is a charger only slightly larger than a credit card which is frankly brilliant. It's small and light, yet powerful, with super high-density battery cells (it has a 6,700 mAH capacity) that recharge a dying or dead phone very quickly, much more quickly than plugging your phone into a wall.
4. Zendure Passport Travel Adapter As I was so pleased with my Zendure powerbank, I was confident their travel adapter would be excellent as well. Passport is a simple white cube that includes built-in power adapters for nearly every region of the world (more than 150 countries).
It's also the world's first global travel adapter with an auto-resetting fuse which allows the device to recover from overloads. The clever design features easy to press and slide buttons and has four USB ports. 5.
Master & Dynamicheadphones Master & Dynamic MW50 wireless on-ear headphones are chic, comfortable and provide a rich sound. The New York based company has been making headphones since 2014 and last fall launched their "Greene Street collection" featuring camouflage and green on ear and over ear headphones. The soft, padded leather ear pads make them possible to sleep in on long-haul flights plus, while they're not noise cancelling, they're certainly noise reducing.
They're also compact and lighter than similar headphones so great for travel. They're wireless but also come with a cable to plug into airplane sound systems. The olive green headphones are a gorgeous fashion accessory and atechnically sophisticated sound tool.
6. MinirigMini portable wireless speaker This circular gem of a portable speaker is remarkably powerful, featuring a 15 watt amp and a custom 52 mm speaker driver. The deep, rich base and overall sound is fantastic.
The minirig Mini comes in a range of colors and weighs less than two pounds so it's an ideal speaker to throw in your suitcase. Minirigsspeakers are made by Bristol-based company PASCE Ltd. (Professional Audio Science and Engineering) that originally started as engineering sub-contractors in the field of professional audio, underwater robotics and sonar, high-voltage industrial equipment.
7. Tielle Travel Pillow Tielle Love Luxury provide luxurious linens and pillows to leading luxury hotels worldwide so it's no surprise that they offer a fabulous travel pillow. Smaller than a regular pillow at 40 x 50 cm and easy to fold and squash into a carry on or a handbag, Tielle's travel pillow is far superior to the standard round the neck variety.
The down-filled pillow has a super soft silky pillow case and is so comfortable thatI've been using it on my bed at home as well as for travel. 8. Cocorose foldable sneakers London based company Cocorose have been making foldable shoes in a range of styles for a while but new to their range are pastel pink leather sneakers with lovelypink ribbon laces.
These stylish sneakers are super soft, light and flexible, making it easy to fold them in the middle and pop them in your handbag. And unlike other foldable shoes I've tried, they have a reasonable amount of support with double cushioned insoles and padded heels inside with an 8mm heel height. They come in a compact travel purse and take up very little space in my suitcase or handbag.
