Family Not Really There in Time of Need.. - Babycenter

Hello all..I have 3 children, a 5 year old daughter, a 1 1/2 year old son & a 3 month old boy.. my husband and I are 23/24, we've been managing on our own completely for about 2 years now..so since my daughter was about 3..my mil (mother-in-law) raised my husband sorry to say it but with no responsibility whatsoever so he was a very selfish person and a mama's boy completely, crippled..but I had to break him from that, I'm sure none of us would have expected him to be the hardworking man he is now..he's definitely trying and we've been doing well..we live in low income apartments but we're making it..and we were just fine up until I had my 3rd baby and moved into a 3 bedroom apartment on the other side of the apartment complexes..the ones on the left side of the office (2 bedroom) were fine. Great actually..but since we've moved to the right side, we've had a lot of issues, one being bed bugs..I know before we moved we never had them, but once moving in here about a month in we started seeing them, and I had the manager look into it, they tried to blame it on us but after months of telling them to check other apartments they finally found the woman above us had them and I and the exterminator believed they were coming in from up there..I told my mother, his mother, and my grandmother about the issue and begged for help with buying climb up interceptors so my kids could sleep safe and me feel sane in the battle with the bugs...nobody could spare or wanted to I believe, $30 for a pack of 8..so my husband, already paying 1/3 of our income to rent, and being a landscaper the season almost out so we have to save for the winter and stock up on necessities and him look for another job in the meantime or just wait because he will have his job back in April, had to spend another 1/3 on bed bug mattress covers and $100 on climb up interceptors and couch covers which ran $150 for each so $300 total for 2 couches..altogether it was about $600.. 1/3 of our income..If we had help or didn't have to deal with that, we would have been able to comfortably get my kids Christmas presents or whatever..but stuff happens, so after taking care of everything and thinking I wasn't going to be able to afford Christmas presents because of this, which is fine because to me, sleeping comfortably is much more important than toys or excessive clothes that'll get infested anyway with no climb up protection..but after buying my children $15 toys each..I thought about everything and I'm a little upset because they said they'd be here for us when we needed it and I never ask for anything and haven't in 2 years so a measly $30 could've helped a lot, and would've been greatly appreciated..but yet now here comes Christmas and already 2 of the 3 said to my daughter "oh Santa dropped off a present at my house for you!" Or "what size clothes do they wear?" And I'm angry because NOW they want to buy them ? that isn't needed..I got my kids at the end of the day and if they weren't there to help my kids when they needed it, why let them be praised when they buy my kids toys and crap they already have plenty of which most of obviously WE bought AND took care of them..just upset they lied about being here..they are only here when they want to be and I honestly feel like well why ARE They around at all?...when the going gets tough the tough get going..we got our kids, my husband and I..and they'll see that one day..so I want to refuse any crap toys or clothes my kids already have because them having been there would've been much more important...what do you all think?..
