Lake Wenatchee State Park Lake Wenatchee State Park is about 45 minutes west of Wenatchee. It sits on the shores of Lake Wenatchee, right where the Wenatchee River leaves it on its long journey towards the Columbia River. There are a great many hiking and water recreation possibilities in and around the park. There is a boat launch that can be used for accessing the waters of the lake. The park also features a large rocky beach area that is one of the focal point for most campers.
Icicle Canyon Just south of the beautiful and fun Bavarian community of Leavenworth, sits the rugged Icicle Canyon. There are a number of hiking trails and campgrounds throughout the area, and it is also popular with rock climbers. The canyon is about 45 minutes west of Wenatchee and is popular with hikers, backpackers, and rock climbers. The canyon borders on some of the most beautiful protected natural areas in the state of Washington, some of which require permits to enter.
25 Mile Creek State Park For those wanting to experience camping that is a little more rustic in nature, 25 Mile Creek State Park may be just the thing. The park is about an hour from Wenatchee and very near another popular state park in the area, Lake Chelan State Park. Hiking, boating, and fishing are some of the popular things to do at the park. It sits on the shore of beautiful Lake Chelan, a 51 mile long glacier fed lake, and though it is less developed, it is enjoyed by those who appreciate getting away from it all.
Confluence State Park Confluence State Park sits on the north end of Wenatchee, right where the Wenatchee River meets the Columbia River. This is a popular place for RV camping, as well as for those using the facility for day use. There are a number of wide open spaces, great access to the Columbia River including a swimming area and boat launch, and much more. The park also connects with the Apple Capital Loop Trail, a ten mile paved pathway that lines both the east and west side of the Columbia River.
Orondo County Park Located on the east side of the Columbia River, approximately twenty minutes north of Wenatchee in the small community of Orondo is the Orondo County Park. This small park has RV spaces, campsites for tent camping, and a dock on the Columbia River. There is also a small store at the park that provides water toys and refreshments.
