LOADS of wooden toys to wear his teeth down... hm... heres homemade hamster toys! *a sock pinata! 1. get a clean sock. 2. fill it with hamster treats. 3. tie off the end. 4. put it in the cage!! *tissue box funhouse! 1. get a tissue box. 2. remove the tissue. 3. rip tissue up. 4. fill box with ripped up tissue. 5. scatter treats and add ham! there are LOADS more you can find online! when you bring ur hamster home he should explore everything in his cage. the first day LEAVE HIM ALONE. 2-3rd day start handling him. he should come out late at night do not get a petstore hamster. adopt from the local shelter. =) good luck with ur new pet!!!

A neat idea is to get a plastic container flip it around and carve a little door way for your little hamsters to take shelter in. i dont know seems like a good idea
2. anyone know how to make good home made hamster toys?
Tube Swing: Fix a long bar on top of the hamster's cage. For ex. cut notches in a strip of wood. Take a can (one of cardboard and foil, not of metal), and cut off the bottom circle with a saw or a scissor. Poke two holes in the can with a scissor or a drill. Take a piece of rope through the holes, and attach it with knots inside the can. Make sure the can almost reaches the floor of the cage if you loop the swing over the bar above the cage. Food Hanger: Fix a long bar on top of the hamster's cage. For ex. cut notches in a strip of wood. Tie a length of yarn onto a clothes hanger, and tie the other end to the bar. Great for hanging leafy veggies and for giving the hamster treats. Just make sure the clothes hanger is not so strong as to hurt the hamster Water Bottle Habit Trail: I am not going to tell you how to make this one since it really just involves creativity and pure smartitude! there is a pic of my water bottle habit trail (it's just for playing) But i will tell you some things about it: like hamsters wont realize they can chew through the plastic wrap (lid) and if you cut a piece of card board and tape one end the the end of the box it will make a door and for the corners of the tubes (the ones out of the cage) i used the cut off ends of the water bottles and just taped em, and i cut a hole in one side of the box and added a little house Peep Hole: Take a small box and cut off all the flap pieces so that there a complete open space with out any flaps getting in the way then turn it over so that it now has a longer width than height then right in the middle of the flat surface cut a hole that's large enough for your hamster to crawl through. Tissue Box House: This is the simplest toy of all! Take an empty tissue box or any other cardboard box with an opening in it, and place it in your hamster's cage. Play Nook: Another really simple toy! Just give your hammy an empty coffee- or cocoa can and put a little bit of hay or shavings in it. Sorry I could not give any names but hope this helps! :)

save all the toilet paper tubes when the paper is all gone. cut holes in them. small ones for windows and larger holes to connect to another tube. you cane make a maze if you save up enough. your rodent(s) will have the bomb time playing in them and chewing on it as well. you dont have to spend money this way! :-)
