Have You Noticed That the Weather - I.e. National Weather Service , Weather Channel, Etc Are Fearmon

I am sure a lot of the hype is to gain ratings, especially after The Weather Channel was bought by GE. However, they make a good case because each year, maybe each day, people die as a result of their interaction with the earth's weather. That's no laughing matter. Since people basically never learn, meteorologist have an enduring task to educate and inform the masses as much as possible and hope some of that information spurs a change in behavior and saves a life. I do not think you can say the same about the National Weather Service. They simply do their job based on established thresholds. Remember, they are government employees funded by tax dollars. Their public service is focused to "protect life and property, and enhance the United States' economy."

I live in Alaska. My idea of a warm jacket might be overkill for you - would have been nice if you had mentioned what state you were from. There is a huge difference between what works in Maine and what works in Florida! Go to Cabellas. I have been stuck/stranded for several days - on four different ocassions - and their Parka and matching dry proof pants are what really made a miserable situation enjoyable. You just can not go wrong with any of their stuff. Does not matter if it is lightweight spring/fall or mid winter stuff - it is all as good as you are gonna find anywhere else. If not better. Cabellas caters to the real hunter - not the LL Bean yuppies.

Guinea pigs should NOT be kept outdoors. They are native to the desert, and are made to live in a warm climate. I kept my guinea pigs in my room, and sometimes in the winter, they would still get cold. Even in the summer, I would not recommend housing guinea pigs outside. In most areas, it can drop to below 60 degrees at night in summer, which is too cold for a guinea pig.

Well you need to know if you will need to wear a jacket. And if there is going to be a storm. And if you should close your windows before you leave home and maybe if you should go at all like a blizzard warning
