How Can You Tell by Looking at a Piece of Code If It's Not Original?

Usually the best way to tell is by looking at the rest of the code.If parts of the code are using significantly newer/older syntax, chances are it was copied. If parts of the code use much more complicated programming strategies, then chances are it was also copied.

A third way (and, in my opinion, the best way) to tell if code has been copied is if it doesnu2019t fit the format of the rest of the code. Personally, I like putting spaces in-between mathematical operators and u201c) u201c, and so my code looks something like this:var a 2;function doSomething(argument) return a argument;console.log(doSomething(5)); // returns 7As you can see in that code, I used 2 spaces to indent.

If the spacing is different in some places, thatu2019s another way to tell if that code was copied.Code on

In C, can we run a program without header files?

I'm going to assume that your question is actually, "In C, can we compile a program without using header files.

"The answer, as others have pointed out, is "yes". It will require that you manually provide the declarations that would have been automatically included when you include a header file. If my assumption is incorrect, and you really did mean ".

can we run." the answer is still "yes". But at that point I have to wonder if you understand the difference between a compiled program and an interpreted script.

Finally, I wonder why you would want to exclude the use of header files. Not using them will save you very little, if anything, in memory footprint or performance. Most modern compilers are good enough at optimization to not include any "extra" fluff that might be referenced in a header file, but which isn't used in the actual program

The phrase "Hi All" in a formal E-Mail sounds incorrect to me.

What are your views on this?

"Hi all" is not incorrect. It is a common enough greeting used by many native English speakers in addition to the other one.

"Hi all" may sound incorrect to some people perhaps because they've been taught to regard it as incorrect -- as is mostly the case in Asia.Indeed, "hi all" has always been marginally more frequent than "hi everybody" -- see Ngram for general illumination:-nGoogle Ngram isn't always reliable (because it doesn't scan for contextual usage) but this one certainly matches my own general experience of hi all vs. hi everybody.

Thanks for the A2A. Updated 22 July 2015 for updated question (re: formal email):-If it's a formal email, use "Dear Sir/Madam" or "Dear Mr/Mrs/Miss/Ms X" or even "To whom it may concern." Anything else is just inappropriate.

How do you say u201cyesu201d in Arabic?

Arabic has a written form that is standard across the Arab world. In the written language, nau2019am (u0646u0639u0645) is the word for u2018yes.u2019But across the Arab world, there are dozens of spoken Arabic dialects, and most people will say u2018yesu2019 in a different way, depending on what dialect of Arabic they speak.

For example, Egyptians commonly say aywa (u0623u064au0648u0627), often just shortened to ah. In Lebanon, people usually say eh or ay.I noticed a comment on another answer saying aywa isnu2019t really Arabic, and foreigners shouldnu2019t learn this.

This is a bit of a debate in the Arab world. As a foreigner studying Arabic, I tend to think dialects are u201crealu201d Arabic, and it is very helpful to learn the way people actually speak. But of course you need to be aware of written vocabulary toou2014and in fact, some people say nau2019am, even in Egypt, when they are being very certain or very formal

How do Native Americans feel about black people?

I went to a party years ago. I was probably 35 at the time and my Native American friend, who is Creek, wanted to go and I went along. This party was full of Mexicans and Natives.

Well, I was having fun talking and laughing also discussing my own Native blood. Creek and Cherokee. Funny enough, they, the Natives saw it and asked about it.

The music that was playing was urban hip hop, it suddenly changed to a more Mexican style music. I didn't say anything. Not my house, if I don't like the music I know how to leave.

Well, the Natives protested and the guy who changed the music said "he didn't want to hear no more Ni**er music." He pissed off the Natives. I was the only black person there.

The Natives were ready to fight. The situation was resolved but wow they weren't happy and I felt like they went into protective mode where I was concerned. Very interesting night

What does u201cprintfu201d mean in computers?

Some good answers, I am simply adding some deets, as kids might say:printf() is only relevant to a few languages; the ones I know are C and CItu2019s not a C or C built in function. Itu2019s a C and C library functionIt prints to standard output, in all the environments I have used it in ( which is an operating system defined concept; usually itu2019s outputting to the console/terminal the program is running on)It allow for variable arguments which is very handyIt supports formatting the output in various ways ( itu2019s very powerful in my experience; develop mastery of it, and you can do all sorts of helpful formatting)Thereu2019s a string version called sprintf() which is very handy, if you are not wanting to simply print to standard outputIn C, do #include to access itu2019s declaration; in modern C implementations, try #include .

Why do Poles, Czechs and Slovaks dislike communism when they have received economic help from the USSR?

Economic help? Like when the Czechoslovak political prisoners in labour camps worked hard in dangerous uranium mines to get uranium, which what later sent to the USSR for free?

Many of those people died due to the exposure to radiation later, some because of the hard conditions in the camp and in the mines. Like when the Czechoslovak factories made products which were later sold to the USSR for extremely low prices? If there ever was economic help from the USSR , the Czechoslovak people paid for it in many ways.

I worked in one textile company. About 80% of its production for exports was made for the USSR and the prices were extremely low, had to be. Why?

It is hard to negotiate prices if the buyer has barracks full of his soldiers all over your country and practically controls the government and the political leaders of your country. Communism is a synonym for slavery to many of us

What other songs are like Mr. Blue Sky by Electric Light Orchestra?

When you say u201clikeu201d Mr. Blue Sky, Iu2019m going on the assumption that you mean episodic, symphonic, Beatles-inspired rock songs. The mother of this genre is u201cA Day in the Lifeu201d by the Beatles, to which u201cMr.

Can someone be truly Dutch without a Dutch last name?

I would say yes. But then again, what do you consider a truly Dutch person and what is truly a Dutch last name? And what do you consider being Dutch territory?

A great percentage of the south of the Netherlands only became part of the Netherlands some 200 years ago Even some 100 years ago in many upper class families in the South French was the language spoken at home. Some also has French surnames. Then there are the immigrants during the last 4 centuries.

The French Huguenots in the 17th. century, the Jews from Portugal in the 16th. century, people from mostly Ambon in now Indonesia who fled after 1949 to the Netherlands after Indonesia became independent and people from Dutch Suriname who chose to come to the Netherlands in 1975 when Suriname got independence, etc.

Today all these Southerners, immigrants and colonial Dutch citizens are considered ordinary Dutch citizens having not necessarily true Dutch last names. So, whats in a name?

Are Chinese people racist against Indians?

There is absolutely racism against Indians in China, but it's unfair to say "Chinese people are racist against Indians". It's impossible to judge how honest and how widespread such accusations are - because some people may have feelings they wont express (and far less likely to express to 'outsiders' or even near/infront of them). I've heard Chinese friends/coworkers/people I don't consider to be generally racist people, who have travelled abroad and are well educated refer to Indians, in general, as smelly, dirty, and poor - and were not shy about those assertions at all.

As for the Indian men I know in China, I know they have a far harder time getting with girls / finding a girlfriend than some other races, but I wouldn't call that an absolute - it would depend on factors that Chinese often associate with beauty - like skin tone and personal hygiene.and even these factors will be more heavily scrutinised than, say, a smelly hairy white dude, in general

Why do some people never greet first and always wait for others to say hi? Should I greet such people first all the time?

I would say they dont greet first because its not important to them. This rubs me the wrong way and I take it personal, even though I probably shouldnt. I was raised in a culture where greeting is very important ( I am East African).

Greeting as well as just having manners. I think its lost in the U. S.

, where sometimes neighbors dont want to say hi. One thing I find annoying is people that say hi when they feel like it, so certain days they will ignore you and certain days give you an enthusiastic Hi!, and even some cheerful convo.

My thing though is that you should always say hi, or at least acknowledge your neighbor or coworker etc. This can be subtle, no need for perkiness. Some people just dont know the rules.

Well then I stop saying hi, on a day when you feel like saying hi and I can tell you feel uncomfortable

How did they choose ancient Roman first names?

The Romans were rather conservative about many things. Their first names, or praenomen, were such.

Basically there were very few Roman first names for males. Virtually every one of them had one of the following names:Appius, Aulus, Caeso, Decimus, Gaius, Gnaeus, Lucius, Mamercus, Manius, Marcus, Numerius, Publius, Quintus, Servius, Sextus, Spurius, Titus, and TiberiusEven worse, a lot of these were not used very much so it pretty much came down to just seven names:GaiusGnaeusTitusMarcusPubliusLuciusTiberiusOthers would come in if a family was large. For example, they would use Quintus (meaning five) if a fifth son was born and Sextus (meaning six) for a sixth.

Furthermore, each family tended to use the same name over and over, in remembrance of the ancestors. So in the Claudius family it would be Appius Claudius, among the Julii, Gaius Julius, among the Tullii, Marcus Tullius Cicero, and so on.You can read a lot more about all of this at Praenomen - Wikipedia
