My perspective of watching my wife give birth.My wife had a stomach ache and tightness in her chest.

She felt she should go to the emergency room. Everything was fine and they did a few tests just to make sure.27 weeks along.

I had been there all night and was tired. It was about 5 in the morning and she was sleeping. I told her I was going to my dad's house to eat a bowl of cereal and I would be right back.

She was ok with it and drifted back off to sleep.I went to dad's. He is an early riser.

We had a bowl of cereal and I pulled out the Sunday comics from the newspaper. I started joking about how women are with their health problems. My cell phone rang.

It was my wife. Benjamin, she said calmly, they say they need to operate on me and it is not a big procedure.I told her I was on my way and received a second phone call.

It was someone from the hospital. if you want to say goodbye to your wife you better get here fast. I ran every single red light in town that Sunday morning.

She was already on the operating table but not under yet. I was told to say something sweet because she was not going to make it. The baby might, but it was unlikely.

I told her I would see her on the other side and kissed her on the forehead. She clued in, very perceptive and I said, of the operation.She went under and the dread hit me.

Why doesnu2019t China have a democracy?

China indeed does not have weatern style democracy, or repersentitive democracy.there is no public election for public offices, there is no multi-party competition, and although a citizen can express concern and offer suggestions to their officials, whether these would be taken seriously is entirely that officials discretion.

chinas system is perhaps best discribed as authoritarian meritocracy. government officials are selected based on their individual merits and ablities, not through popular election. and once in position of power, the official can make decisions within the parameter of the office, without public support if nessecary.

does this mean peoples opinion doesnt matter?on one hand, Chinese officials dont need to actively please the constituents like their western counterpart often needs to. if a policy is not popular, but is inline with the mandate of the office and is expected to have positive outcome, it gets enacted nevertheless.

Although nowadays there are more and more public hearings on different matters, to please the crowd if you may, but end of the day they dont usually affect the outcome.this may be very authoritian by nature, but on the other hand, in practise, the China Communist Party wants to please the public. the relationship between government and public is definitivly discribed as boat and water in China: boat is carried by water.

water can allow the boat to have a smooth trip, but if angered, can tip over the boat in an instant. the Communist Party knows this very well. after all, it came to power because the general public was extremely disatisfied with the Nationalist government.

the last thing the CCP wants is to anger the public, which if unchecked, will eventually and surely result in the overthrown of the party from power. this has happened many many times over Chinese history. people have that power, and will use it.

to have the Party remain in power is the number one pirority of the Party. and to do that they need public approval. and the easiest way to get public approval is to make their lives better.

Chinese are a pragmatic people, if they have jobs, getting paid well, and their standard of living improves constantly, they will love and support their government, no matter the political ideology. and this is exactly what is happening in China.essentially, the party tells the general public to trust what they are doing is for the greater good, and suck up those minor issues.

so far, the CCP has come through in a big way for the majority of Chinese people.sure, there will always be people who are disatisfied with their government. even in pure democracy, the will of the minority gets ignored.

it is all about managing public opinion.

What is the most tender, sweet and beautiful song ever?

This question is all a matter of opinion, however there are some factors that work in favor toward certain songs.

These are just a few reasons that I personally can back up. One aspect that can make a song sound beautiful to a person, is the voice itself. Specifically if the voice has similar tone to that of your parents, because while a baby is in its mothers womb, it associated the voice of its mother with, well, life.

So, subconsciously, as the person grew up, sounds that you heard frequently while you were a baby, become more pleasurable, especially that of your mother. (The one that you are instinctively dependent on. But that's a whole other subject to talk about.

)Aside from the voice, the melody and harmony are key factors to a pleasing sound. If the melody is composed in the key of C natural, putting a harmony that uses dissonant notes to that key (such as and F sharp while an F natural is being played) , may make the piece sound, not that pretty. As for the type of key; keys can be used in many different ways and are easily shaped into different moods to fit the composer's desire.

When I say types of keys, I'm not referring to the key that a piece is played/sung in (the key of A flat, the key of G natural.) I'm referring to if it uses major, minors, melodic minors, sub-dominate minors, or harmonic etc. These styles of strategically placed flats, sharps, and naturals give music different voices and moods.

As far as what makes a beautiful, sweet and tender song, that's an opinion. However, because by definition, tender means "showing gentleness and concern or sympathy" I would be listening for a song that uses a melodic minor melody because it has the sound of a minor, which makes it sound sad, but it has accents that give it an uplifting tone. A tone of hope.

Hence the concern and sympathy. The definition of all three of these characteristics brings me to my final point (or shall I say beat), the rhythm. A song with a slower tempo and an over all legato feel (holds note to the full value) may fit the description of gentle, pleasurable, and soothing.

think about it, if you had to sing a song to a baby so that it would fall asleep, you would probably choose a lullaby or some song that was slow and soft. There are MANY other factors and reasons that some songs are more fit to answer this question, and the majority of these are all a matter of opinion, effected by experiences and environment, so there is no one right answer
