I think you mean a missing chunk out of the of wood? If so, fill the area with wood putty. Wood putty comes in a couple different colors. You want the orange color. After it has completely dried, sand it smooth. You might need to add more wood putty if you still have a couple divots. (Then sand again.) Apply Oak colored wood stain. Allow to sit a minute or two and wipe it off with a cloth. If you want to imitate a wood grain in the repair, re-apply more wood stain in streaks with a paint brush. Let sit and wipe again.
