I would say learning web development is not a waste of time. The reason is that the most important skill about programming is not knowing any specific language by heart. Its learning to think like a programmer.

It doesnt matter which language you learn, they all teach you that same thing.The thing you really need is practice, and that comes easiest from doing things that interest you. If you feel like doing web development right now, you should do it, even if you are not planning to become a web developer.

Learning the language might even come handy one day. Being exposed to many different languages is very beneficial

If you dont know the number, dont pick up. If its important, theyll leave a voicemail. They just want attention and they want you to continue to think about them.
