it's only going to get worse!!! i hate that you can not flip them over! i've been rotating mine, head to foot, foot to head, but that's really not a good solution. i have told anyone i hear that's talking about getting a new mattress that they should NOT get a pillow top for just this reason. we spent so much $$ on it too, so to just throw it away would be too wasteful to bear. next one we get though will not be a pillow top unless they add that pillow to the bottom for flipping or make a zip-off attachment that can be laundered and fluffed as often as necessary. i will be watching for any tips!!! great q!!

Why do not you secure the pillow inside the doghouse somehow? Drill small holes on either side of the dog house, and attach ropes to the pillow and loop the ropes through the holes in the house, then he can not pull it out anymore... He might be doing this though because as someone else mentioned, the pillow is wet and he wants it to dry, but you mentioned that he sleeps on it outside anyway, so I do not know if that is a logical explanation or not. Dogs like their “dens“ to be clean, so maybe the pillow needs to be washed, too.
