IKEA has recalled 38,400 crib mattresses amid fears they pose a fire hazard â just months after recalling deathtrap drawers that killed two kids.Vyssa Spelevink crib mattresses, which are white with blue piping around the edges, do not comply with US open flame standards and the company fears parents could be putting children at risk by continuing to use the mattresses. The company is telling parents to stop using the mattresses immediately and return them to an Ikea store for a full refund â with or without a receipt. This comes as a blow for the Swedish manufacturer after having to recall a number of items deemed unsafe this year â most memorably a drawer set responsible for killing two tots in the US.However, the Vyssa Spelevink is not the only crib mattress Ikea have had to recall this year. The manufacturers also had to recall 169,000 baby mattresses in the US and Canada in January over fears the ill-fitting pads could trap infants.
