Is C a Good First Programming Language?

Despite many answer saying that is a bad language, I think it depends on how you take it.For example, if you take a basic course you can start with a simple subset of the language for example basic logic, control flow and functions. You dont need learn all things pointers, classes, templates and tricks from C as once.

Also I would say if you are learning about computer architecture C/C are good languages since many of their concepts are really close to the hardware.Dont expect to be a top programmer in 1 year, neither learn all of it in this time. It take time, years, but the learning way is very fun and exciting and then when you revisit things that were at the beginning, you have another view of them.

I can also cite an big disadvantage of starting with a much easier language, for example php, you can get used to it and acquire bad habits, settle for less, since those languages do not require much knowledge to program.All in all C is not as easy as other languages but it gives the reward and challenge that worthy, just dont be stupid to try learning all at once.

A lot of people on this board seem to think that it's your fault or you should defend yourself. It's alright that one should be able to put someone in their place if they have been bad mouthed you but apparently some don't realise that speaking ill of someone can make bad for your esteem or even go as far as affect your job.

Some people can badmouth Mother Theresa and make her sound like a whore but it's all up to you the individual and the type of relationship you want with this man since you only get what you encourage. I have also been on the receiving end of this. I dumped him.

I was nowhere around to defend myself when these people badmouthed me. The things they said to him and for him to just stand there and said nothing. Mind you all these were men in their 50s.

All he did was just tell me when we met up that day. As far as I see I cannot depend on him. People in my hometown will ill speak Jesus Christ himself and still find themselves in church praying for a miracle in their time of need.
