Is It Inhuman to Say Hello to a Stranger?

"Different countries have different cultures and traditions, what you say matters. Let me tell you an example :In India when you visit any restaurant it's natural to ask the waiter to serve the food in your plate, whereas in west you can't ask waiter to serve you, it's not their culture or tradition, it will be considered as offence. The same goes for saying Hello to a stranger, you need to know how to strike a conversation in that particular geography.

It's always advisable to learn the culture of the place you are visiting

Other Questions

Why shouldn't a salesperson be offended when a customer doesn't answer when he says hello?

Thanks for your request Sassa.

I would presume you would not know the customer and whether they are deaf, or in another worldcould be plenty of reasons. I have not responded at times, sometimes my head is in another place, sometimes I am fed up with an insincere hello how are you, sometimes I am not paying enough attention to hear you, if you are working a shopping centre and have signs up I know you cannot approach me unless you make eye contact or get a response, therefore if I see I dont want what you are selling I will ignore you because to do otherwise would waste your time as well as mine :/

What if we have not invented 'hi' and 'hello'?

Actually , we in India would be using 'namaste' , 'hanji' , ' ram ram ' , ' jai shree krishna' , ' insert any name which you want to use more in a day , related to gods' .In Sanatan culture , we already had these phrases to greet everyone respectfully whenever we meet them . Hi and hello are okay but i still feel the indian way enriched with genuine respect and we take the name of the almighty more and more , greeting other people also becomes an excuse to chant name of the almighty.

You see how much better is this way ud83dude04.Jai mahakal

What makes Adele's song "

What makes Adele's new song so popular is the fact that it is just that good. Hello is very well-produced, managing to capture every change in dynamic within Adele's beautiful voice, which successfully expresses to listeners her feelings of love and loss with boatloads of vulnerability and honesty. There is so much depth to the tune compared to your average pop song nowadays, which makes it even more relatable to the listeners, proving that when one can really interpret a song well, he or she does not need any gimmick such as excessive melismas or unnecessary high notes to attract listeners - this, to me, is where the track succeeds.

How did "Hello" become "Hi"?

Hello, sourced in the U.S. western frontier in 1848, was shouted to attract attention. Hello became more prevalent in the 1880s following the advent of the telephone (thanks to Thomas Edison) when it was used as the formal greeting. Interestingly, the operators handling the phone exchanges were known as hello-girls.

Hi, on the other hand, is also sourced as an exclamation of greeting. Its first usage was in 1862, recorded by a Kansas Indian. Its likely that hello became hi after the popular use of the telephone, the latter being an informal greeting between two people who know each other, such as close friends or relatives.

Should I say something after I say hello to someone?

Generally it is pleasant and friendly to enquire how they have been doing, or their family (if they have one) etc..ask about them and their life..take an interest in them. :)While they are talking you can think about what you would like to share with them also or ask further about what hey have told you about..be genuinely interested. If you have time a quick chat brightens your day and theirs! One thing is not great and that is just speaking about yourself for ages, or your family or work etc for a prolonged time.

.break your chat up into give and take conversational chunks!

If you can only say one word/phrase as a greeting (ex. hello, hi, good day, etc.) what would it be?

If you can only say one word/phrase as a greeting (ex. hello, hi, good day, etc.) what would it be?I always say Good Day. I even had to get special permission to use that as the greeting when I answer my customer service calls, because my employer prefers the greeting be good morning or good evening.

I find it easier to use the one greeting then to try and figure out what time of day it is here when people call in and what time of day it is where theyre calling from and which would be the appropriate greeting

What's the best app for learning Chinese, Hello Chinese or Chinese skills?

Both are quite good, especially after recent updates. And they can be used well together, along with some 3rd party flashcard software (where you could place vocabulary learned from both of them). However, I believe Chinese Skill recently decided to turn all its extra content to be free, which makes it better choice in terms of features.

After you are finished with them, Skritter is the best app for learning characters and vocab, but it is expensive. Some handy flashcard software for you (if you get their subsription, make sure to add me and I can share with you vocabulary training lists based on both Chinese Skill and Hello Chinese apps):Chinese-English dictionary and flashcards Trainchinese

In the JavaScript string "Hello World," why is the character code of H 72?

According to the ASCII(American Standard Code For Information Interchange), every character is given a specific code for its identification, just as every character has a binary code. Upper-Case Characters have different codes than the Lower-Case Characters.Small a - 'a', has a value of 97, while Capital A - 'A', has a value of 65.

Small z - 'z', has a value of 122, while Capital Z - 'Z', has a value of 90. 'H' being the 8th element of the alphabetical series, the ASCII code for 'H' is - (65 (8 - 1)). Which gives us 72. Hence, 'H' is 72.Happy Coding!In JavaScript string "Hello World", the charCode of H is 72 ,why it is 72?.

Is it theoretically possible not to understand? For example, if someone says hello, can you consciously refuse to understand?

This is an interesting question. I was thinking the same thing. How very difficult it is to consciously NOT understand basic words. It's very instinctive to understand meaning.Though, I do think with some practice to get in to a state where one can separate sound from meaning, it is possible.

For example, by repeating "hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello..." at least 50 times, you can almost get outside the meaning and stay with sound. This is the purpose of mantras in meditation. It would take some mental conditioning to stay out of meaning, but it is possible.

Should I train to implement data structures and algorithms except of simple "Hello world"-like programs?

Learn the programming language first. I imagine youre learning Python or Java, but this answer should be acceptable for any non-functional programming language. Before learning data structures and algorithms, make sure you know:If/Else statementsLoopsFunctionsBasic object oriented programmingIf youre learning C then naturally you need to have a good understanding of pointers, memory allocation, etc..While learning data structures and algorithms are important, you dont want the syntax of your chosen language to hold you back. A good sign that youre ready to start implementing data structures and algorithms is when you can build a basic command line application, such as for an ATM or an inventory management system

Do cats say hello?

Well mine do! Usually when we come in the door Edith will be right there talking away. Either telling me about her day or asking me if I had a good time? All I know is she's happy I'm back and is ready to talk and cuddle. Elsa will pick her head up from wherever the best nap place of the moment is and "mow" once or twice. They are sisters and she grew up trying to get a word or two in between Edith's constant talking! So yes my cats definitely say helloud83dude3b

Why would a narcissist text you hello after 3 months of silence and he is with a new supply?

This is typical of a narcissist. He is checking to see if you will take the bait so he can use you as a tool in his new relationship. Please do not think it is because he cared or loved you because a narcissist LOVES NO ONE and no one is the exception. The BEST thing you can do is NEVER text him back. The only way narcissist are able to do what they do is by people continuing to stay in contact with them. STOP!Do yourself a huge favor - DO NOT LOOK BACK! DO NOT GO BACK! GO COMPLETE NO CONTACT!

How should I deal with those people who send me "Hi/Hello" type messages on Quora?

If you're not up to random chit chat - ignore them. That's what I do in 90 percent cases . I only reply to a message if -It's something genuine and positive .It is related to any of my answers .It is sent by someone whom I have noticed reading my answers / commenting or follows me / I follow them.

I wrote an appreciating message first and they reply etc.I don't reply to normal hi / hey / how are you messages just because I am not free enough.Ps . Just like most people , I have also recieved vulgar/ awkward messages so just block and report.

Yours :).

Should I buy a Nest Hello doorbell or Ring Pro doorbell?

Probably not. There is an air of the gadget for the sake of it" about these things. I really can't see the point of having your doorbell ring your phone while you're on a mucky weekend in Paris. And all this stuff about telling delivery drivers to put things in the shed? Nonsense.

We have had surveillance cameras for decades. Have you got any? No. Why now?Given how insecure the IOT is, I think you are better off spending the money on a bit of original art, or a nice meal. And relax about people ringing your door bell. If you are out, you won't answer. The Mother-in-law will work it out.
