I remember as a kid shooting rubber bands at my dad, my classmates and even at my sister. It was simple enough, you knocked the rubber band on the tip of your first finger, wrapped it around your thumb and held it against your palm with your middle finger. Then you took aim at someone who us hopefully unsuspecting and let it fire.

Later I discovered the rubber band gun. It was a piece of wood attached to a dowel that was shaped like a pistol. A clothes pin was located on the back that held the rubber band. I think this is an overly elaborate rubberband gun. I can not believe what this guy has to go through to make something like this. Do not get me wrong. The rubberband gun is awesome. I wish I had the patience to build something like it. Who knows, maybe some day I might. Right now I need to work on building my woodshop.

I like the idea that this gun can fire several rubberbands in a row. This means you have more chances of hitting your target without reloading. The only downfall is that it takes so much time to reload. You may want to have several of these loaded and ready to fire.

If You Don't Want to Build One - They are Extremely Easy to Aquire

You can easily buy your own rubberband gun. You can find them everywhere. I have seen them at most toy stores. you can find them off the highway at any Cracker Barrel Restaurant. You can even pick one up here on Amazon and have it shipped to your house. It doesn't matter really how you find it, buying one is so much easier than trying to design and build one.

You Will Need Lots of Rubber Bands - Never can Have Too Much Ammo

Think about having an awesome rubberband gun and only having a few rubberbands. That means when you loose all the ammo, your gun will be a glorified club. Make sure you have plenty of ammo. The nice thing about rubberbands is they are cheap.

Your Kids Will Be Able to Make This One

You may already have the materials in your house to make this rubber band gun. All you have to do is look through your children's toys. Legos are one of the best building materials out there and they are readily available. You can find them new at the department store. You can find them cheaply at the thrift store or garage sales.

Now you can try to look at the photo here and recreate what they have made, or you can get creative and make something that uniquely yours.

I know this gun took a long time to design and build. The designs have to be complicated, If there were designs to begin with. I bet they did a lot of trial and error before they found something that worked.
