It's hard to remember what I did for my daughter, but I do know she was off the bottle at eleven months;but, each child is different. You said that your son wants the sippy cup. I do know that I did not worry about getting a Brand name. I used the ones from Tupperware a lots, simply because they hold up for a long time. For others, I would just get the cute ones from the dollar store, grocery store if I saw a cute one, Wal Mart. My daughter never had any trouble with them. Perhaps the "ones" for orthodontics are too hard. Try something simpler, if they are going to have to have braces later in life, it is too soon to be thinking about that. As far as apple juice in a bottle, tosh! My daughter drank water, juices, etc. from bottle. As for juice being bad for their teeth in a bottle, what is the difference between that and a sippy cup, the same teeth are in his mouth. You need to just chill out, he may be picking up on your nervousness. Get a couple of cheaper sippy cups and try him on them and let him choose which one he likes. He will show you in his own way which one he likes best. He may be going on fourteen months; but, he is a person with his own likes and dislikes just like adults. My daughter did have some problems with d, it was her formula. Had to change to soy formula, so I diluted the apple juice with water because of the acid content and did not give her any orange juice. She liked grape and white grape. I would say to dilute these too as the stronger flavors might "scare him off" or they may be too strong for his stomach. All in all, again just chill out and give him different kinds. If holes are too big, you will see extra drainage. When he gets really thirsty he will drink. Another thing he has to learn how to drink rather thansuck. I suggest that you and some people may not agree with this, but, I learned from the school of common sense, fix some juice for you to drink in a small glass and go on and on about how good Mommy's juice is, Cut up and smile and laugh and get his full attention and then offer him a sip from your glass. This will be messy at first, but, he will think he's a big guy and after about two days try giving him a small plastic glass with just a small amount of white grape juice or apple. He might like the white grape better or some plain fruit punch. You can get sugar free stuff and get natural apple juice. All of these are relatively inexpensive. Keep comparing your cup to his and tell him things like "look at my big boy, he drinks just like Mommy, etc". He knows his own mind and praise will encourage him. After about a day, offer him a sippy cup or he may go straight to a small glass. You will have to help him learn to drink from a cup, hold it up and offer it to him after several bites of food, whatever you are giving him at the time. Put just a small amount in the plastic glass, because he is going to do a lots of spilling. As they say, Rome was not built in a day. These are some things that you might want to try; but, the main thing is again to chill out and do not be so serious, he can sense it if you are nervous. Make these times fun, laugh with him and smile a lots and he will get the idea of gosh, this is fun, Mommy's happy and I am a big boy. I was a nervous Mother, nurses at pediatricians office helped me a lots and my best friend who has three children, was a big fan of the University of Common Sense and do not listen to everything you hear or see on t.v. A lots of these big companies keep inventing things that they make you think your child needs just to make profits. Look at your Mother and grandmother, what did they do when sippy cups were not available. They went straight from breast feeding to a small cup. Makes sense does not it. Use your common sense and do not worry about what other people say unless it's a good friend who you have faith in, other people will drive you crazy if you listen to everything they say. Remember that you son is unique, he is his own llittle person with his own personality that God gave him. Hope and pray that this helps. Good luck!
1. Why do people in the country and sticks use Apple MacBook and Apple desktops?
it was done out of a matter of necessity people that live out in isolated areas heard that the Apple computer does not catch viruses and so they bought them. for a while they enjoyed the relatively virus free environment of the Apple computer. But when you brag to the world that Apple does not catch viruses somebody comes along to prove you different now when your Apple computer catches a virus it's a mess and nobody knows how to fix an Apple computer out in the sticks. Not many people in the city for that matter. those people that are willing to mess with an Apple computer will charge you a fortune you get about $75 to clean up a computer from viruses but when you have a computer that cost $1,500 nobody wants to touch it. If something goes wrong then it was you broke my computer you have to buy me a new computer hell no I ai not messin with no apple!.
