We have a 10 month baby and we dont' beleive in introducing TV or computer stuffs to him at this age. We prefer him to learn the basic things. We have a lot of home made toys for him. Gather a few plastic cups and put them up like a rising tower. He enjoys it when he can push the cups down. Got a milk bottle and put some rice and colorful paper in it. He shake it and listen to the sound. Put other items in different bottle and he learn of other sounds.
1. When washing soft baby toys in the washer, should I be using a detergent like "dreft" or just use hot water?
your regular detergent is suffice make sure your washer is on extra rinse you should be good
2. how do you all feel about baby toys? i have this one car seat toy that you pull on and when you let go it?
What age group are you looking for? I love all of the Leap Frog Learning toys.. and the Baby Einstein toys are all really educational. The read and learn chair by Fisher Price is awesome also. My friend's 1 year old loves that chair. The 6 month old keyboard for the computer is great because computers are definitely going to greet our children early.. so learning early is key. I say anything educational is a good toy.
3. baby coming soon, afraid dog will confuse baby toys for dog toys?
Hi. Its hard not to worry about almost everything when you are close to having a baby. You will have to just be consistent and vigilant with Toby about which toys are off limits. Dont ever let him play with any of them no matter what and he will get it even if it takes time and a bit of frustration. Then, sadly, at about the same time he totally gets it, your baby will be moving around and thinking HIS toys are theirs and you will have to do the whole thing but in reverse. Eventually everyone will know their place. Just be consistent. It is the key to both parenting AND dog ownership. Good luck!.
4. What is your favorite cleaning agent for baby toys that are put in the mouth?
Soap & Hot water always works the best
5. What is the best way to clean soft baby toys?
Wipe them off with damp soapy dish rag or papertowel and then rewipe with wet towl. You can also use a mixture of half vinegar half water to disinfect. Vinegar is a natural disinfectant. They do smell vinegarry for a few hours, but it goes away and then you do not have to throw away your baby's favorite toys. To be honest, as long as your child does not have a defficient immune system, some exposure to germs is not the end of the world. It will help build his/her immune system. If you know a child is or was sick and really got a good slobber on it, you might want to see if the toy will make it through a good bath. If it does not oh well, you tried. Some of the toys say not to submerge but I have submerged them anyway and surprisingly they came out fine
6. What is the safest way to clean baby toys?
If she is putting them in her mouth I would suggest either just using regular dish soap and water (rinse well), or if you want to really sanitise them use the sterilising fluid you use to cold water sterilise bottles etc
7. What are the best baby toys for a 6month old? That can entertain her for more then 10min.?
The 'Baby Einstein' range has everything you mentioned. I have a star that lights up, plays twinkle twinkle little star, says goodmorning and goodnight in spanish, french and english, it has nighttime sounds and alarm clocks etc. It even has a rattle and is in bright colours. I bought this secondhand, washed it, and it still has plenty of life. Even though it does everything you could possibly imagine, my son plays with it for a few minutes then moves on to something else like an empty water bottle or empty cereal box.
