PLEASE ANSWER??? FOR ALL PEOPLE!!! Cat Tree Question.?

I have a cat tree kinda like A6401 and my cats have almost worn it out in 7 years. And I mean that in good way. They love it. And really, it's got some more years left. I guess "worn out" is not the best way to say it. Do not underestimate how much kittens will and want to climb, and if you are keeping these kittens, you want something they can grow into

1. I want to build a cat tree house/condominium?

First thing be sure the base is wide enough to hold what you are building. I took a look at some of the Armarkat tree houses to get ideas and then picked one and added a few things to it that I liked on other ones. Basically if you provide lots of shelves, small enclosed boxes, a ladder and tunnel and then attach some string toys hanging down - that should be fine. I also just saw a little unique thing of putting a shelf on brackets against the wall and varying the heights so the cat can jump from one to the next on the wall - kinda cool and pretty simple. Also include both carpet and the sisle rope on the pole part for scratching. Many cats prefer that to carpet.

Oh hon, I am so sorry about your kitty. I get it - food and shelter for human family, or the health of a cat (the furry family). Hard decision to make, but I think most people will understand. That said - take her in. Immediately. You will forever regret it if you do not . Go in knowing your top dollar - the max you can afford to pay should it be treatable. Tell the vet your concerns about affordability. If it's highly treatable, they will probably work with you on payments. If it's a spendy treatment, they might just advise you to put her down. She's in obvious distress and needs immediate help. If you do not have a 24 hour clinic nearby, then wear some old clothes and cuddle up with her tonight. She needs the extra loving as much as you do

3. How can I clean my cat tree?

Sounds like the best thing is to get a new one. Look for a darker colored carpeted one. Happy hunting

I built one of these for our two cats and they love it. They are on it every single day. It's great exercise for them. For mine I had the spare lumber on hand. I got carpet scraps from relatives. Ask around among family and friends for old carpet pieces. Often people have them and just have not gotten around to throwing them out

no, it's not dangerous. She wo not climb if she do not feel safe. That's very nice cat tree, if I would be a cat I would be so happy with it.

If the cat tree is made with press board, yes water will make it fall apart in time. If the water can be soaked in, then it will grow mold. That would be bad. Bottom line, ask your sister not to get the cat tree wet.

even if you could saw that wood into usable planks it still needs to be kiln dried -- as it will twist inside the walls or just on the floor == stack it up for firewood and go buy quality lumber ====== good wood properly used has never failed
