If you want to stay in luxury in Las Vegas, choices abound. The top resorts all contain well-furnished rooms and offer no shortage of amenities to help you enjoy your stay. Most of the top hotels in the city are located on Las Vegas Boulevard, better known as the Strip.

These resorts are consistently noted for their quality by such travel authorities as Fodor's and Frommer's.Wynn and Encore, both built and owned by local developer Steve Wynn, are the class of this section of the Strip. Rooms in both properties are similar, with long hallways leading to living areas with two televisions, a plush mattress and windows that stretch from floor to ceiling to offer the best views of the Strip.

All of the rooms at The Venetian and Palazzo are suites with sunken living rooms that feature large couches. The properties themselves reflect Italian culture, with a replica of St. Mark's Square from Venice fronting the Venetian.

Caesars Palace offers a variety of rooms, including the Spa Deluxe Room complete with large whirlpool tubs. Bellagio may be the most famous property in the city, thanks to its dancing water fountains and its pedigree as the top spot in Vegas when it opened in 1998, as another Steve Wynn creation. In addition to luxuriously furnished rooms, Bellagio offers some of the best dining in the city.

While Mandalay Bay itself is nothing to sneeze at, this property contains two more notable hotels in THEHotel and Four Seasons. The boutique THEHotel contains all suites with wet bars, large plasma televisions and large mirrored wardrobes. Prepare to be pampered at Four Seasons where children each get a stuffed animal and milk and cookies.

Adults can enjoy various sweets and teas in the Veranda lounge. MGM Grand offers nine varieties of rooms, from basic to pricey suites. The 950-square-foot Premier Suites have separate dining rooms while the Terrace Suites are spread over two stories.

The beds at the hipster hangout Palms are among the most comfortable in town. Located about a mile off the Strip, this is one of the best casinos for celebrity sightings. Your best bet on Fremont Street in the downtown area is Golden Nugget which offers spacious floor plans and marble vanities in its standard rooms for a much lower price than what you would pay on the Strip.
