Please be *very* careful when providing bones to your dog. Soft bones are not a problem, however 'knuckle bones' and the like can damage teeth. Our pit had dental surgery recently most likely due to a bone we gave him. Bones that are soft, will become brittle within a day. Beware! I've found that the large Jumbo 12" bully bones are fabulous. I get them on ebay for about $3 and change each - they do not last very long, but are safe, do not hurt teeth, and really satisfy the chewing need.

What I do sometimes not all the time is put some ham or something in a plastic bottle with the lid on that should keep him quite for a few hours and also. And my dog goes through toys like they aint going to make anymore so I gave up on buying brand new ones go to a charity shop and just get loads of teddys cheaper and does not matter if the animal destroys it as it was cheap. But the treats in a bottle is great mine loves it.

Well my dogs just had the, I got a gallon empty milk container, I got now who wants it? Run around the back yard! LOL Nice long sticks or a big branch is always a fun run here! Big empty soda bottles too! Or a chunk of grass, dirt still attached! LOL

I have a 5 month old blue Great Dane, it is very expensive owning one! We paid $250 for the biggest crate at Pet Smart when he was 8 weeks old & already needs a bigger size. You have to buy tough dog toys, so it will cost more than a normal dog toy would cost, we go through dog toys like it's nothing now! Giant breed dogs (Great Danes are not a large breed, they are giant) need less than 25% protein in their food. No, they can not live outside or in the garage, Great Danes love to be around their family! Great Danes should not have too much exercise while they are growing, it can cause damage on their joints. I am not sure about Irish Wolfhounds, but my Great Dane LOVES other dogs, we have 2 Shih Tzus & he adores them : ) If you are worried about the cost of feeding one, you should definitely not get one, EVERYTHING costs more. Whatever dog breed you decide, you should do a TON of research & adopt or find a reputable breeder. Good Luck
