OQ: What are some good reasons I should vote for Joe Biden (and please dont simply say he is not Donald Trump, give me actual policy reasons)?Lots of interesting answers here. So let me put it very simply:Biden wants the job.
Trump doesnt.Biden wants to do the work. Hes not fixated on playing the POTUS on a reality show, and hes not out for revenge on his predecessors.
Hes out to clean up the godawful mess this country is in right now.Hes after that job. Hes been after it way before Obama hurt Trumps feelings at that Presidential Roast in 2011.
Hes seen up close and personal what a crap job it is, and he still wants it. Thats a great reason to vote for him. Biden understands the issues.
Whats your issue? For me, its climate change - and Biden is gathering all the info and all the good ideas to formulate a plan. He knows windmills dont cause cancer, in other words.
His predecessor is already on record as appointing oil barons to head the EPA and rolling back protections on endangered species, and Biden has 4 years to a) not do that, and b) do something about the damage he has wrought. Thats another great reason to vote for him.But you do you

What led to the collapse of the housing bubble?
Michael:Honestly, in my lifetime, Ive never seen a scenario comprised of more guilty parties than the housing crisis of 08.Show me an innocent party?GWB, Barney Frank & Chris Dod (I.
E. - The Federal Govt) - In interpreting the American dream for Americans. i.
e. - owning a home and in forcing on the banks innapropriate quota incentives for making home loans.Guilty!
Wall St. - In packaging up garbage loans (125% LTV?) and shoveling it off on anyone stupid enough to not look inside the CBMS (commercial backed mortgage security).
Guilty! The Banks - For throwing Fiduciary responsibility to the wind and writing innapropriate loans to consumers and not taking the time to explain the fine print (I. E - an ARM (adjustible rate mortgage) will significantly adjust upward along with your payment!
)guilty!Rating Agencies (Moodys & Standard & Poors) - This is perhaps the worst of the worst as it could have all been stopped right here if someone just had the will! For giving superior ratings to CBMS filled with garbage/over leveraged loans.
Guilty!Lastly, Consumers - duped home buyers. In America, the rule of law prevails!
Take personal responibility! If youre putting / signing your name on the contract, make sure you know what youre signing. make sure you understand the consequences.
guilty!Like I saidshow me an innocent party. Its really quite the story.
If you havent read the book or seen the movie The Big Short, I highly recommend it!.

What does the Led Zeppelin "Zoso" symbol signify?
The "Zoso" symbol associated with Led Zeppelin's fourth album appears to be a sigil for the planet Saturn associated with the 12th century alchemist, Artephius. The mathematician and occultist Gerolamo Cardano included a copy of the sigil in the chapter "Ars Magica Artefii et Mehinii" (English translation: the Magical Art of Artephius and Mehinius) of his 1557 book, De Rerum Varietate, which was placed on the Vatican's Index of Forbidden Books. (Other sources on the Internet identify the source of Zoso as Gerlamo Cardano's "Ars Magica Arteficii," but that's actually a case of mistaking a misprint of one of Cardano's chapter titles as the title of one of Cardano's books.
)The symbol can also be found in reprints of a circa 1520 grimoire, best known in English as The Red Dragon and the Black Hen, where the symbol is also identified as a sigil for the planet Saturn, attributed to the same 12th century alchemist Artephius.Led Zeppelin fans (of which I am one) try to get all mysterious about how Jimmy Page absolutely refuses to reveal the mystery and meaning of Zoso (cue Twilight Zone ooo weee oooo music), but I don't put too much stock in that. Jimmy Page's birthday is January 9, which makes him a Capricorn, which according to astrology proponents is an Earth sign ruled by the planet Saturn.
So, in short, it looks like Zoso is just Jimmy Page referring to his own zodiac sign. What do Led Zeppelin's "ZOSO" symbols signify?

Ex-Hindus: Why did you convert from Hinduism or became an atheist?
Well, when I finally started seeing the hypocrisy in my own religion, my faith was lifted from it. Everyone was like, oh, god will do this, hell do that, thank you for this, thank you for that. I realised soon enough that all of it was complete nonsense.
if i wanted to be happy, Id have to work for it myself. if i wanted to avoid pain, I would have to take care of myself, not leave it to someone else. I stopped believing, praying, and basically doing anything that was connected to god.
Then there was the support from a few friends at school. I was lucky enough to have friends who didnt criticise me for not believing in what they did. We had a lot of healthy debates over the existence of god, and most of the time the believers were the ones who quit at the end, which helped me even more.
Then, of course, theres all the unfairness you can see in everyday life that also lifted my faith. They say god treats all his creations equally. Then how come some people suffer so much, while some do not?
how come some dogs die of starvation and some reject the best food? How come some babies are born with such deformities? If god loves his creations, how come he lets then suffer?
these questions basically lifted my faith from the stupid beliefs.

Besides Dumbledore, which characters do you think are LGBTQ in the Harry Potter books?
Albus Percival Wulfrick Brian Dumbledore is the only confirmed gay character in the Harry Potter franchise.
He was revealed to be gay after the conclusion of the book series, when J.K. Rowling answered a question posed by a fan.
When asked why Dumbledore was gay, Rowling replied "Maybe because gay people just look like. people?".
After Rowling's revelation, the LGBT rights group Stonewall said: "It's great that JK has said this. It shows that there's no limit to what gay and lesbian people can do, even being a wizard headmaster. "JK Rowling's brilliant response to fan who asked 'why is Dumbledore gay?
'Me thinks that Rowling deliberately ensured that the sexuality of her characters was not explicit, lest it divert attention from the essence of the story, the constant war between good and evil, or as Headmaster Dumbledore was known to proclaim the choice between easy and right.I believe it was also done in effect to let the readers take the sexuality of the characters in stride. As far as other characters who might belong to the LGBT community, there are no other confirmations, we can only speculate.
But if it strikes your fancy, you just need to explore the fandom a little more and you will find it rife with fan theories that delve into various characters exploring their sexuality. (These people did live in a magical castle for 7 years with means to ensure they werent disturbed.)

Do you think Jacinda Ardern, prime minister elect of New Zealand, will do a good job?
Let me lay out some background before I comment. I come from a family of teachers and Labour voters. In 1984 a Labour government was elected, that proceeded to govern like archetypal neoliberals.
There was a good case for political reform but not at the pace of the Lange government. This was followed by nine years of even more socially damaging rule by the National Party. Unions were gutted and beneficiaries punished.
The only good thing that came out of their term was that the country changed the electoral system to proportional representation.Helen Clark did her best to mitigate the damage of the previous nine years, but her hands were tied by both her coalition partners and the imperative to make a budget surplus.I defy anyone to enunciate John Keys political philosophy - he didn't have one.
He did respond well to the GFC, but members of his cabinet did a lot social damage on his watch. On to Jacinda Ardern. In these days of hard right governments who seem to think that the more extreme the better, New Zealand is extremely fortunate to have a leader that cares about people.
Government policy is there to help everyone, in particular those who are born less fortunate. She is smart, compassionate and funny. Most politicians come across as automatons, she is a real person.
Put it this way - of all the politicians in the world, she is the only one I would invite for the pleasure of her company

Who has acted the best in Game of Thrones season 6 so far?
ALFIE ALLEN ALL THE WAY!I cannot understand how people oversee him and its just so frustrating.
His role and hard work in the show is just so underrated and under appreciated. Despite lots of people hating the Greyjoy story line or just hating Theon, they keep overseeing him and his talent. Alfie is by far one of the best actors in the show and he had to go through so much for his role.
Theons character development is so hard to play and act out. Through simple face expressions or his appearance or attitude, Alfie lets us see Theons thoughts and fears just through his eyes, which is insane!I think that he has understood his character completely and that he could portray everything from cockiness, to nudity, to Stockholm Syndrome, identity loss, pure fear, to hope and an entirely new character.
He has literally played three different characters in the show and could always change his attitude, voice or appearance for this new identify. The new Theon is way different than the old one and lots of actions lead to that if you are paying attention (e.g.
shrinking shoulders, bowed head, walking on the side of a staircase instead of in the middle). He is so underrated and I hope that he gets more recognition at the end of this series. He deserves an Emmy by now, but that is just my opinion

Would people vote for a Congress-led grand alliance in 2019?
It is too early to predict the outcome of 2019 election. We also remember that Congress has an amazing capability to bounce back from ashes. It came back from 1977 debacle, 1989 humiliation and drubbing on late 90s.
It would be foolish to underestimate Congress. But this time it seems very difficult for Congress. They just won 44 seats and they failed to win even 10 seats from any state in 2014.
They have not captured any state except Punjab after 2014. Congress seems to be very enthusiastic about Gujrat but it is still Modis election to lose. Congress has been wiped out of UP & Bihar.
It has hardly any significant presence in AP, Tamil Nadu, Orrisa etc. It is still down & out in Maharashtra & Kerala. The most important thing would be the grand alliance.
Who would be the leader and which all parties would for the alliance would play an important role. Congress SP BSP RLD would be a formidable force in UP. Congress AAP have potential to demolish BJP in Delhi.
Congress DMK AIADMK can sweep Tamil Nadu. But I dont think that all anti-BJP parties would form a grand alliance under leadership of Rahul Gandhi. And in case Rahul Gandhi becomes leader of combined opposition, then it would be Modi v/s Rahul and BJP would love that.
Only Modi has potential to stop himself. Modi has the sharpest political brain in India and I am sure that he may come up with something unexpected to foil the grand alliance plan
