Well, my hamster is not a dwarf, but there are still a few things you can do. The best material would be thin cardboard, so that they will not choke on it like plastic if it was bitten off. You could just put in a plain toliet paper roll, as a chew toy or tunnel. Another thing is to cut up veggies, if you have alot of spare time, and create something like a small house or such. You could also just take a few tubes and make something like a ladder, box, ect.

If you would like to keep two, I would suggest MALE DWARF hamsters as females and larger hamster types will FIGHT. I keep one Syrian Hamster called Ronnie. He loves toilet paper tubes. I also put in a mirror for him and he used to sit there admiring himself!:) ALSO: I would NOT advise you to get cages with all that tubing stuff surrounding as my friend's sister's hamster sadly got stuck in a tube and died:'( RIP. Also the tubes could be decreasing your chances of having a good bond with your hamster. My hamster also likes curtains:/ I would suggest getting a wire cage unless you have cats. My hamster unfortunalty cannot have a wire cage as we have kittys:( But if you can a wire cage would be better as they loooove to climb. ANOTHER TOY: You could also make it a small hide away hut out of cardboard or plastic as your hamster will need a shelter where he feels safe:) hope i helped:D.

my hamster loves pvc or abs pipe. you can buy at home depot make any shape you want and its cheap! I suggest using the 2-3 inch pipe. make sure you ask for pvc or abs pipe( plastic pipe )

My hammys favorite home made toy is really simple. You need scissors, a toilet roll tube, and some treats. Cut the tube into lots smaller tubes, so you have a bunch of circles. Just wrap the circles of card around each other so you are making a kind of ball, stick some treats in the middle of it, squish it a little so it holds shape better and give it to your hamster. Mine spends ages tearing it apart to get the treats, then chews the card and takes bits to her nest.

That's normal hamster behavior. Hamsters are the worst pets ever. I am sorry you are stuck with one now. I had a white teddy bear hamster a few years ago and it drove me crazy. It chewed its cage and tried to get out all the time. I bought it bigger and bigger cages but it still did it. Eventually I let it go outside. If you want a rodent get a rat. They are more affectionate and a billion times smarter than hamsters
