What Do Lisp Programmers Think of Haskell?

I've been trying out Haskell, Clojure and Racket in the last couple of years.Originally I thought I'd take to Haskell because from the outside, I thought its syntax was beautiful and elegant and Lisp looked comparatively verbose. At the same time, I've never been much of a fan of static typing but Haskell's type inference looked nice.

And people were saying many good things about it.In practice, while I enjoyed and admired Haskell, I still found the typing counter-intuitive and a faff. While at the same time I fell in love with Lisp.

Ironically, writing a lot of Lisp for the first time made me wish I had more static typing .It's like this. In OO languages, I never missed static typing moving from Java to Python.

In practice you don't actually make a lot of mistakes with types when your code looks like :box. drawOn(canvas)That's kind of hard to get wrong.OTOH, when you're writing(drawOn box canvas)it's actually much easier to get the arguments the wrong way around.

Or to pass a box instead of a box etc.Particularly in Clojure, with its absolutely horrible error reporting, silly mistakes like that are a PITA. So, like I say, ironically, Lisp made me nostalgic for Haskell's static types and I began to investigate the Lisp optional typing story (I'm not using it yet, but I believe I will start to).

But, equally ironically, I've become a passionate fan of Lisp's syntaxlessness. Especially because I've also adopted ParEdit in Emacs. Which means not only am I writing the Abstract Syntax Tree of my program directly, but I'm doing sensible tree manipulations on it.

You will not find it easy to drag me away from this awesomeness.So, WRT Haskell vs. Lisp.

I thought I'd like the syntax and hate the types. In practice, while the types pushed me away (and towards giving Lisp a solid chance), it's ultimately the syntax(lessness) that has made me passionate about Lisp. And I'm up for bringing at least some static typing into my practice there.

Clojure is a wonderful language. A lot of libraries and solid concurrency tools. (And with Overtone I can do music with it too.

) ClojureScript is a great story for writing browser-based reactive front-ends. And Racket seems to have me covered when I want to write small natively compiled tools. So some kind of Lisp seems to meet all my needs today.

(At some point I'll finally take the plunge into Emacs Lisp to improve my working environment too.) OTOH, Haskell is a great language, but I don't personally see myself going back to it in the near future.

How do you know if he/she is your twin flame?

Can you write a short story that begins with "It started drizzling and she opened her bag."?

It started drizzling and she opened her bag to take out a book to cover her head.But, suddenly, someone tapped her on shoulder. And when she moved her head, she found it was her husband Raj standing there with an umbrella.

Both of them walked together & reached at their small tailor shop. Rajs wife Meera brought lunch for him. It was their daily schedule.

Meera used to grab lunch for Raj and then she used to help him at their tailor shop.Both of them were living an ordinary life in a small village. They were poor, but happy together.

As we all know happiness always comes with a comma. Yes, Raj and Meera also met with the comma when the lockdown was announced due to corona pandemic.Initial days were okay, but then the real struggle begun when Raj started running out of the cash.

It wasnt in his nature to ask financial help from others. Thus, it was hard for him to even ask from his family members. But, his wife understood the silence of her husband.

The next day, she gave her husband 400 INR from her savings & asked if she can take tuitions of children from neighbourhood.You dont need to ask me to do such things, Raj answered and Meeras tuitions started.In a week, she was giving tuition to four kids from neighbourhood and Raj started helping his wife in doing household works.

As soon as the lockdown finished, Rajs mother paid a visit at their place and she noticed that Raj was doing cleaning and Meera was taking tuitions.She didnt utter a word, but her facial expressions shared disagreement with their life style. She entered inside the house.

Later in the noon, when Meera was sleeping, she called Raj and asked, Why are you doing her works?Raj smiled and answered, To be honest, in the starting, I did it because I had no business due to lockdown. I was free.

But, then I realised that how she always helped me to balance our tailor shop and I asked a question to myself that cant I balance her life by doing something? These are not her work, but our. Thats it.

But, Her mother said that word and wanted to say more where Raj interrupted her by asking, Wont you feel happy if dad will do the same for you?Rajs mother never had an answer of that question, but a woman had. She put her hand on Rajs head and said, God bless you.

- She also offered Raj some money to bypass the hard time, but Raj politely refused.After two days, she left. Meera went to market to buy vegetable.

When she returned she found the nameplate on her home was changed. Old name plate read Raj Vilas and the new one read, Meeraj Vilas.

Does your twin flame know that you two are twin flames?

What does a human being expect from such a so-called 'TF' connection? And what would happen, if the other party realized the 'TF' connection?Here is a true story in a nutshell, where both the so-called 'chaser' & 'runner' have realized a so-called 'TF' connection right after the runner's second return.

By the way, in the first two runs, they have not heard about the TF phenomenon at all. The chaser researched what can stand in the background of their unbelievable parallel life events in the past, their uncountable coincidences and synchronicity in the past and present as well as the incredible telepathy and inexplicable sexual attraction between them. .

It turned out that there is a phenomenon, called Twin Flames or Twin Souls. They found 19 of 'the strongest 21 TF signs' are fully correct and matching. (1 would be correct and only one was questionable from the runner's part).

They discussed it many times face to face and in writing while they were together.Despite these 'facts' :-) and the continuous real-life matches the 'runner' escaped three times. (per se, the 'runner' was pulled back two times by an incredible magnetic force) but after the third escape, everything was denied.

Later on, from both sides. First, the 'runner' denied everything very roughly, then the 'chaser' got confused ;-). That's All - by Genesis :-)Anyway, it seems that 'TF' is a very popular expression (developed by humans), primarily for the inexplicable love relationships.

I guess, we should get answers for the following questions:1. What is behind all of that kind of connections where most of the so-called 'TF signs' are correct and matching for both parties?2.

What is the real message for those human beings who recognized and experienced these signs?3. And.

the final question is: WHO or WHAT CREATED and SENT those special messages & signs for those people? (The 'chaser' or the 'runner' from their previous lives? The Universe?

A transcendental power? Anyone else?) And anyway, what was the main aim of the 'sender' with these messages and signs?

So, would we be happier and more satisfied if the other party realized the so-called 'TF' connection?All in all, Maybe I'm right, Maybe I'm wrong. Who knows?
