Lak means for you or to youArabic prepositions are different from in English prepositions. There is no prepositions in thank you. Shokran lak means literally: Thank(s) for you /to you.
When translating it into English anyone would just say it means: thank you. That does not mean that lak means you in Arabic.Actually English propositions give me a headache; using the wrong one could give a totally different meaning.
Its not that hard in Arabic. maybe Its me.You could also just say Shokran.
In formal Arabic you say laka not lak asin Houssam answer.

I want to learn a programming language. Which language is better for a startup?
Hi Warren, we use a low-code platform called OutSystems. If you come from a technical/IT background you will be able to figure it out and wont need to learn a programming language. Theres also a lot of online resources on the OutSystems website.
Changing your application is also simple to do and doesnt require days or weeks (or months) of coding - depending on the size of the change of course. If its too big then you didnt plan properly to start with ;) You also need to consider whether you actually want to get into the programming business yourself or whether it is better to outsource. I you are not familiar with pretotyping, I highly recommend that you visit Pretotyping.

What does Baba mean in Hindi?
Perhaps your question is when to use the word Baba.
Baba is a word in multiple languages and has multiple meanings. Usually it refers to a person who is male and elder or is very learned. Basically, in most of the north India we call our grandfathers Baba.
In Marathi and Bengali Father is called Baba. Generally, a saint or older person is called Baba. Also someone with beard may be called baba, this is a slang used for people who grow beard and a sarcastic comment is passed on them.
This refers to the saint as saints usually grow beard. A saint, yogi, beggar, even if of younger age may be called baba. You should be cautious while calling anyone baba.
Few people may not like it, as it refers old and poor people in general.

I messaged 15 Korean guys on HelloTalk and none of them replied to me. My picture and name is up.
Why is that?
Well it depends on your nationality. If you could let people know what your nationally is and may be describe a little about yourself it'd be easy to make a guess.
If it's uncomfortable for you to say it's totally fine. But anywho, many Koreans do not prefer to talk with Non Koreans in general. Not just them but any nationality people for that matter.
Though they might respond if it's just gonna be a friendly relationship rather than an intimate one. They simply don't prefer other nationality girls or boys mostly for the later. PS: Forgive me if there's any grammatical errors, English is not my first language

Why are Koreans obsessed with ordering iced Americano?
Please! Its a fad and like all fads it arose quickly for uncertain psycho-social reasons and will subside just as certainly unless the broad culture incorporates and infuses that process or item through its demographic. The reason for the latter persistence may have little connection to the original stimulus.
For example drinking hot chocolate was a fad in Europe prior to the introduction of coffee. Coffee houses sprang up everywhere (think of Starbucks on a smaller scale). Hot chocolate is still consumed there, but has been overwhelmingly replaced by coffee - perhaps due to the mildly addictive aspect of coffee's caffine.
Chocolate didn't disappear, but, generally successfully morphed from a beverage to a confectionery product.

How do you say "I'm sorry" in Korean? Is there a more formal and informal way to say it?
There are two common adjectives to say sorry: (Mianhada) (Joesonghada)The later one is more formal, and has official nuance. On the other hand, there are honorifics as well in Korean, so you can composite an adjective with an honorific: (Joesonghamnida) (Mianhamnida) (Joesonghaeyo) (Mianhaeyo) (Mianhae) (Mian)The first one is the most formal and polite way to say sorry, and the last one is the most informal and casual. Note that the above list is not totally ordered by its politeness.
They have their own nuances. Also, there isnt no expression like (joesonghae), because the verb is not applied to impolite tone.

Do Koreans like half Koreans?
I don't speak Korean (other than the basics) and I don't think I look Korean either. I don't really understand the culture either so I'm not such a great half "Korean."
Im a full Korean, speak the language and grew up with the culture.
I spent most of my childhood in Korea and left the country at age 12.I dont have a problem with half Koreans at all. Im curious as to why youre wanting to know we have a problem with half Koreans since you dont look Korean (therefore, most Koreans will think youre of another race, if you didnt say anything about your Korean background) and dont really understand the culture.
Some Koreans maybe prejudiced against half Koreans and people of other races while many arent

How do you say goodnight in Swedish? What are some different ways of saying goodbye in Swedish?
Goodnight - God natt is almost only used for when you are going to bed, and not like in goodnight everyone see you tomorrow.
In those situations you would say something more like Ha det bra, syns imorgon - take care, see u tomorrow.Good bye - Hejd Almost always followed by something more like, talk again tomorrow/on Friday and so on, sleep tight, take care, see you, or some sort of reminder or interjecrion like good bye, don't forget that book (we talked about) tomorrow. If you're on the phone these things can instead be the other way around saying polite thing, reminder and so on, okay, good night, bye the goodnight or goodbye is marking that u are hanging up.
Do not hang up without saying Bye :)

How do I impress a Lithuanian man?
I asked this question because I got a bit annoyed searching through questions and the ones I found were all about how to impress females. With that said, I genuinely want to hear some answers.Marks Stenerys: Thanks for a great answer!
And yes, knowing some words in Lithuanian works wonders. I wont even try to learn that longest Lithuanian Word other than in writing, though. He-he!
I dont personally find the few Lithuanian men I know to be arrogant since they are friendly towards me. But indifferent: I can see that.Lexi Worthington: Not important, just a question among many other questions.
I actually have impressed him already, by just being myself. So you are absolutely right: That works! But still its fun to hear other peoples views and experiences.
Thanks for your input!

What are some inappropriate way to greet someone?
No greeting is u201cinappropriateu201d in itself.
It will be u201cinappropriateu201d only when used in an u201cinappropriateu201d - ie, unsuitable - context.Saying u201cHey, wossup!u201d is recognised as a casual and friendly greeting to your friends.
But if you said it to your Head Teacher, or the Managing Director of a company that you had only newly joined, it would most certainly be u201cinappropriateu201d.Do bear in mind that although it often seems that way, u201cinappropriateu201d is not synonymous with u201crudeu201d or u201cobsceneu201d. It merely means u201cnot the right thing to say/do in that situationu201d.

How do you say 'Hello' on the phone and 'Hi' on the street in your language?
I tend to use hello on the phone and hi or hey in person. In Thai it's the same formally, sawasdee (ka or krub).
Informally, in my family I use a Thai-sounding "hellooo?" usually the response would be something equivalent to oh, it's you, or how are you, i. e.
"oh, Tae reur ka?" or "ben ngai ka" (short for ben yang rai ka) or "wa ngai ka" (translates literally to what do you say, effectively similar to what's up) On the street if I bumped into someone, I'd call their name and ask how they are in one of the informal ways above. "Hi" is used but not as commonly, in my experience

Why does Adele sing sad songs?
Well the 21 album was mostly sad, due to it being because of a break up. Aside from 19 and 25 (which contain happy songs as well in the mix), there's actually a song in 21 that's incredibly optimistic despite the theme of the album being a sad break up album. It's called One and Only.
It's really nice, in terms of optimism. As as far as why? Well Adele says she writes songs and will feel they are good if they can make her cry.
So since more sad songs make people cry than happy songs, this could also be why there are more sad emotions than happy
