There are plenty of toys you can get for free. The tubes in rolls of paper towels and bathroom tissue rolls are great fro all rodents to chew and to run through. Tissues and soft paper napkins are wonderful material to give to hamsters. They rip them up and bulk up there nest with the soft material. Make sure the napkins arent fragrenced or have vicks/lotion etc. in them. Tissue and soft paper napkins are also safer the nesting materials found in stores. Another great toy is newspaper and the grainy paper Shaw's sends its circulars in. You can place a piece fruit it a small ball and your hamtser will spend mins-hrs ripping it up to get to get the treat also they use the paper as nesting material. Chewing blocks are ok, but my hamster rarely uses them. Little hidout boxes are good, and some bird toys, like the ladders are fun, just remember to take out the small part

I always like to spiff things up a little! I say you could make her a little "cave" with the tissue paper box. Take out all the toilet paper, then place the box on its side. Or you could use string and tie it on the cage's roof. It could naw on it and run through them. Hope this helps!
5. Can i Color hamster toys?
I am not sure, check the box the markers came in, if it says on it 'Not Toxic' then you are fine, if it does not say that then they are not safe
6. how can i make hamster toys and treats?
My little hamster used to love the toilet paper tubes although I never thought of putting peanut butter in them. also if they are small enough, you can use a paper towel tube also. As for a little house, I gave my hamster a box with a hole cut in it enough for her to go in and out of, it fit across the width of the cage, I put another hole in it for her habitrail tube so she climb on top of it. She never chewed it up though, she just lived in it
