Actually, neither of the prior answers is correct. Yes, Apple owns all of the relevant trademarks and so forth... but the name "iPhone" is licensed from Cisco, who coined it for one of their early VOIP phone systems before Apple decided they needed to make an iPod that could be used for phone calls

5. Whats the difference between the LG VU and the Apple iPhone?
The iPhone focuses more on being that "smart phone" with a lot more navigation options. Plus it's an additional 35.00 data fee on top of your bill already. Usually making each bill about 70 or 80 dollars. It is a great phone, though. Do not get me wrong. Just very, very expensive. The LG Vu is not considered a "smart phone", therefore, it focuses more on the everday person's needs, so it does not come loaded with GPS or an appointment book. It is very light in weight and is the first phone to be launched with the AT&T TV which you must pay $15.00 for or add internet for $30.00 more. It's a pretty cool phone. If you are looking for a phone not business wise, but for looks and pure entertaiment and sleekness for you, go with the LG Vu. But, if you are looking for a phone designed for business purposes (a lot more expensive), go with the iPhone. Both are great, just very different in prices.

7. I am an Android phone user. How would you convince me to get an Apple iPhone?
I quite liked the neutral reasoning and thoughtful answer provided to you by Eric van Leeuwen, but I have some additional thoughts as well.I chose the iPhone.I am not going to talk about technology, though; I am going to talk about the fundamental difference between Apple and Google, which makes Android, the operating system that Samsung and many other phone manufacturers use. It is this difference that is making a rapidly expanding and noe yawning gap between the business models of the two companies. Everything you say and do, everything you write, all the music choices you make, all the photos you take or collect (and all their metadata), the specific places you go, when you go, and in many cases why you are going there, every consumer choice you make on the Android phone and all the information you collect about your spouse or significant other(s), friends and colleagues, is shared with Google for its inscrutable business purposes, and it allows its many, many, many business clients to access for rent or lease that info of yours. Google makes a tremendous amount of money from the dossier it has on you and others from all of their apps and Android.Apple does not monetize any of what you do, as you. Apple makes considerably more money than Google simply by selling you its hardware and services, part of which is trust, and if it must keep track of you, even with its services, it does so as the bare minimum and for your benefit, and you have full, transparent and easy control of what is collected, you can see the few pages of, mostly comprised of recorded of software or entertainment you've purchased - so you can get it again for free if you somehow lose it, and it does so absolutely securely. So, is Google's business model more beneficial to you and yours, or Apple's? That's really the signifiant question, is not it.Oh, and do not forget to ask it of everyone you know whose info you will be inadvertently and, to them, secretly providing to Google.
