In my view Sachin is far ahead of any of the Indian celebrity whether he/she is film star or cricketer .

How does someone get in touch with their own mental health issues?

I use writing, journaling, and poetry to better understand my relationship with my depression. My writing reveals truths I would have missed if not shown to me through my writing.

It also takes the pain and the confusion away allowing me to find some peace where none exsited before. The writting I do hse reveled that my depression is a force of its own. I know this because, that's not me, those thoughts come from somewhere else inside brain, they are not what I believe, the dialog is not me, the action is not me.

Of course, it's me, and therein lies the saddest part of all this. For reason no one can answer, my brain becomes my enemy. Bringing darkness, confusion, intrusive thought, and ultimately to bring me harm.

This is what my writing has revealed to me, I am in a battle for my life. A bit dramatic? Maybe, but to those who have experienced chronic depression know, its an understatement

How did you pay for college without your parents' help? How hard/easy was it for you?

I paid for my first nursing degree by working as a seamstress and printing pictures at a local photo company. It was difficult. My parents were immigrants and did not believe a woman should obtain a college degree.

They thought I should get married and have children. That wasnt going to happen. I often memoriezed facts by pinning a paper to the curtain above my sewing machine and glancing up at it.

I would make just enough per semester to continue on. Im sure I would have gotten better grades had I not had to attend college this way but I finished on time. My second degree I also paid for while I was working as a nurse, so it was easier financially.

Now college is much mire expensive but there are scholarships and financial aid out there. Just make sure you meet with a guidance counselor and financial aid person so that you dont accumulate debt that you can not afford. Good luck.
