They were always dark skinned, but I definitely got an orange feel from their make up jobs before, and I think the shift to brown was to make them feel more realistic and natural to us as thats with in our acceptable range of skin tones of our species.We see a really big shift to darker browns as African Americans begin to take on many more roles, and the sillier skin tones from TOS and even from the now ridge-headed ones in the movies now look much more natural as the make up was likely easier to make match their tones.Until the introduction of a sort of blue tone to their list of possible colors, they very rarely had actually dark skin. You might note that Michael Dorn IS NOT as dark as LeVar Burton or Nichelle Nichols, and he was pretty much the standard tone of Klingon. So their range was pretty limited all through out in terms of brightness and darkness, and until recently they just never got as dark as humans can get. It was pretty much orange-ish brown when white actors portrayed them, and natural human brown when black actors were in the role, until further down the line they seemed to get their make up perfected, and they all followed the same general color through out the rest of late TNG and DS9.

Every meal I get to make and share with my loved ones! Every chore I start and am able to complete in a days time! Every trip I make to the store or pharmacy! Heck, every trip I make up and down the stairs is cause for celebration of making another trip! Every extra medical expense I can actually pay for! Every hug I can get! It all counts! It all feels like a blessing and a good reason to celebrate life! I am blessed in so many ways! There are so many that are not as fortunate as me, and I am grateful and humbled to be who and what I am and have become in my life!
