i gotta ask what are u making in alaska we saw someone that made lights like christmas lights with green beer bottles and had them hanging all over their house can u say alcholic

1. What do i need to make an LED light bulb?

The easiest way is to buy something already made that has about 100 LEDs on it. A replacement bulb in a traffic light comes to mind. If you make it yourself, it will be a hassle. You need a circuit board onto which you can solder the 100 LEDs, a 6 port constant current LED driver chip, a high current 24v DC power supply. The exact current specs for the driver chip and power supply depend on the current draw of the particular LEDs you plan to use. You then make 6 chains of approximately 16 LEDs in series each. Each chain will be driven by one port of the driver chip. Another shortcut is to salvage the LED backlighting unit from behind the LCD panel of a new generation laptop computer. It may not have 100 LED's on it and they will all be white LEDs (blue plus yellow phosphor). You can use it as is or unsolder each LED and replace it with the color you want. You then have a panel all ready to go. A new generation LCD TV that is LED backlit will definitely have at least 100 LEDs though. Of course, the diffuser panel will end up giving you a square light but maybe that's what you want.

So a little bit of filter theory kinda puts a little mud into this project. Unless you are looking at high-order filters (read complicated), a first order filter only rolls off at 20dB/decade which means your filters wo not isolate their bands very well. This might work for 250Hz, but what about 290Hz? You may have so little filtering that 3-4 lights light up for any given frequency. Automatic gain control would help with this issue.The simplest way to go would be to have one amplifier and a bunch of passive filters, but they would be large and expensive probably at those frequencies. Your other thought of using active filters would be a second choice. A little more complicated but cheaper and more compact.You are on the right track, but at the end of the day, without automatic gain control or high order filters, you will likely be disappointed with the results

It does not really supply more light it reflects the original light source more efficiently

You can not ask such a vague question and expect to get the answer you are looking for. Some LEDs have the ability to generate multiple colors, while others emit only one color. If you want to get another color out of an LED that was designed to be just one color, then you will have to replace the LED lights themselves.
